"Number Zero has been seen with Number Six quite often. I almost wonder if she and he both find solitude in each other. Both believing they are monsters. Except, Zero is a worst monster than Six,"-Reginald Hargreeves
Zero's POV
We (minus Five) all sat in front of the tiny TV playing a video of Mom during Dad's death. It was not entertaining at all.
"I mean, do you really think that Mom would hurt Dad?" Vanya asked. A good question.
Luther scoffed, "You haven't been home in a long time, Vanya. Maybe you don't know Grace anymore."
"If he was poisoned, it would have shown in the coroner's report," Diego pointed out.
"Well, I don't need a report to show me what I can see with my own eyes.
I mumbled under my breath, "Maybe you're blind then, Luther."
Diego nodded quick, "Maybe all that low gravity in space messed with your vision." He clicked a button to rewind the recording.
"Look closer. Dad has his monocle. Mom stands up. Monocle's gone."
Klaus laughed, "Oh, yeah." He passed his bag of chips and I ate some.
"She wasn't poisoning him. She was... taking it. To clean it."
"Then where is it? No, I've searched the house, including all of her things. She doesn't have it," Luther whined.
Diego glanced towards the floor then back up, "That's because I took it from her. After the funeral."
Alison turned her body towards Diego, "You've had the monocle this whole time? What the hell, Diego?"
"Give it to me," Luther demanded, extending his arm out.
"I threw it away."
Luther crossed his eyebrows, "You what?"
Alison scoffed and took a swig of her booze. Diego continued, "Look, I knew that if you found it on Mom, you'd lose your shit, just like you're doing right now." Diego pointed at Luther with his knife.
"Diego, you son of a bitch!"
Vanya intervened, "Hey. No. Calm down. Look, I know Dad wasn't exactly an open book. But I do remember one thing he said. Mom was, well, designed to be a caretaker, but...also as a protector."
Alison folded her arms, "What does that mean?"
"She was programmed to intervene if someone's life was in jeopardy."
"Well, if her hardware is degrading, then..." He took a pause, "We need to turn her off."
Diego and I looked at each and protested, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait," Diego pointed his knife at Luther again, "She isn't just a vacuum cleaner you can throw in a closet. She feels things, I've seen it!"
Luther moved his hand towards the footage, "She just stood there, Diego, and watched our father die."
I scoffed, "What? And you'd step in and save that son of a bitch's life?"
Alison stated, "I'm with Luther."
"Surprise, surprise," Diego mocked.
"Shut up."
Luther and Diego looked at Vanya. She moved her around, trying to form a sentence.
"I-I don't-"
Diego interrupted, "Yeah, she shouldn't get a vote."
"I was gonna say I agree with you," Vanya explained.
