I can't hide anything
from you, can I, Renjun?

He gave her a teasing smile as he moved his face close to hers. Her breath hitched, and her pulse started to race. She stared into his eyes that held mischief and admiration. She glanced at his lips before lifting her eyes to meet his once again.

"I- what... would you like me to do, Na Jaemin?" She felt her hands get clammy. A tingling feeling erupted in her stomach as they stood there with his face a few inches from her.

Jaemin's gaze fell onto her lips before moving them back to her eyes. She gulped, feeling his warm breath on her face. Heejin gripped at the hem of her hoodie as Jaemin moved closer.

Heejin's grip on the popsicle loosened, making it drop. She flinched at the sound of it hitting the ground. She averted her gaze to the ground. She crouched down and stared at the popsicle. She lifted her hand to her cheek, feeling the warmth. She tanned herself slightly, trying to cool them down. The sound of her heartbeat pounded in her ears. 'What are you doing, Heejin?! He is your friend!'

Jaemin stared at her crouched figure, gulping. He lifted his hand towards his mouth. He couldn't believe he almost kissed her. It felt as if his body moved on its own. He wanted nothing but to feel her soft lips against his. He shook his head, trying to rid of his thoughts. He slapped his cheeks softly, trying to knock some sense into himself.

Heejin stood up with the popsicle in her hand. "I- I gotta go."

Jaemin watched her run away, making him sigh in defeat. "What are you doing, Na Jaemin?" He asked himself, shaking his head in disappointment.

'Are you trying to ruin it for yourself?' He ruffled his hair before walking back home.

Heejin sighed, finding herself avoiding Jaemin again. She sat at the bus stop, scanning the area. She sighed, relaxing slightly as the bus came in. She hopped on, and her mind drifted back to the moment they had. Her face started to heat up. 'What are you doing to me, Na Jaemin?'

She shook her head, taking out her phone, and placed her headphones in her ears. She got out of the bus, deeply sighing out as she made her way towards the school. Her thoughts drifted to Jaemin and how he reminded her of Hyunjin. She thought of the times that she saw Hyunjin in him and how memories of him popped into her mind as she spoke to Jaemin.

A figure found his way to stop in her tracks. He tilted his head as a questioning expression made its way onto his face. Heejin raised her eyebrow at him, watching his lips move as her music played through her ears loudly. She pulled out her headphones, asking him to repeat himself.

He groaned and stared at her, annoyed. "I said, why are you at school earlier than you usually are?"

"Why not?" Heejin asked, shrugging her shoulders. He rolled his eyes at her response, not in the mood for her games.

"Seriously, Heejin. Is something wrong?" He asked, crossing his arms. He stared at her, examining her expression as he tried to figure her out.

"I can't hide anything from you, can I, Renjun?" She laughed, running her hands through her hair.

"Nope," Renjun replied as he placed his arm over her shoulders. He let go of her and eyed the students that started to arrive on campus. "Let's go somewhere more private."

She nodded, following his lead. She followed closely behind him as they walked up a flight of stairs. She let out a tired breath as they made it to the final step. She flinched as the unpleasant sound of the roof door opening filled her ears.

"I always hate that stupid sound," She said, sighing as she walked through it. She squinted her eyes as the sunlight that reflected from the ground filled her eyes. She lifted her hand, shielding her face from the sunlight, and spotted Renjun at the edge of the rooftop, staring at the ground. She walked towards him and stopped at his side. She turned to face him and waited for him to speak.

"Spill everything," He said, intertwining his fingers together. Heejin licked her lips, attempting to figure where to begin. She chewed at her inner cheek before sighing softly.

"It's Jaemin, and you know... Hyunjin," She said, leaning against the wall that prevented her from falling off the building. Renjun snapped his head towards her as the familiar name filled his ears. His eyebrows raised, and his mouth flew open. He couldn't believe his ears. It's been a while since he heard her say his name.

"I don't understand, Injun. Why is this happening?" She said, gritting her teeth. "Tell me why I remember fractions of him when I look at Jaemin?"

She tightened her fist, feeling frustrated. She wanted it to end, all of it. She wished to stop hurting, but as she continued to linger around Jaemin, memories she yearned to erase returned. She tried her best, but he kept coming back into her life.

"It could be possible something is triggering your memories," Renjun replied, staring at the entrance of the school. "Does Jaemin do anything in particular?"

"The thing is... it's like everything is repeating itself. The things I did with Hyunjin, I did with Jaemin." Heejin frowned, playing with her finger.

"It's kind of like deja vu... I get a feeling I've done things before, and then suddenly I realize," Heejin said softly.

"Then last night..." She trailed off, feeling frustrated.

"Last night?" He lifted his eyebrow.

"I was with Jaemin, and I think." Heejin paused.

"I think I slowly forgot about you know..." Renjun leaned closer, intrigued. "Jaemin and I..."

"What about you guys?" Renjun asked with furrowed brows.

"He... We-" Heejin groaned, feeling her face heat up.

"You what?" He asked, amused as he saw the pink shade of her cheeks.

"We almost kissed," Heejin mumbled, hiding her hand in her hands.

"You almost what?" Renjun asked, teasing the girl a bit.

"KISSED! We almost kissed," Heejin burst out before groaning in frustration. Renjun stared at her in shock.

"You almost kissed him?" Renjun asked in disbelief.

"I didn't initiate it... he did." Heejin sighed, letting her cheeks cool down. "Injun, what do I do?"

"It seems like you're falling for Jaemin." Renjun glanced at the sky, smiling.

"How do I make it stop?" Heejin pouted. She didn't want to believe him.

"You can't... no one can control that," Renjun said, turning to her. "The question is... are you falling actually for him?"

"Or are you falling because he reminds you of your ex?" Heejin blinked back, trying to process his question.
