❝ Don't say things like that ❞──────────────
Heejin and Jaemin walked through the streets of Seoul, laughing loudly at each other's jokes. The colors around them seemed to shine a little brighter. The wind blew, making their hair sway with the breeze. The two seemed to be in their own world, ignoring everyone around them. Some people stared at them in envy, finding them cute. A girl is seen behind them, watching them from afar with a bright smile on her face. She quickly fled the scene, lifting the hood over her head.
Jaemin stared at Heejin, admiring the small dimple that showed on her left cheek as she laughed. He watched how her eyes disappear and couldn't help but smile brightly as her melodic laugh filled his ears. He could listen to her laughing all day.
They both calmed down and walked in silence. Heejin's mouth began to water as they passed by food vendors. Heejin eyed a vendor selling corn dogs. She tugged at Jaemin sleeve, pulling him with her. "Let's get some."
Heejin eyes sparked at the lady who handed her one. She thanked the lady, and waited for Jaemin on the side. Heejin grinned as she eyed the food. She took a bite, watching as the cheese stretched. She turned towards Jaemin, who watched her with a grin on his face.
"You must love food, huh? I see you smile so wide when you're eating," Jaemin said, chuckling. Heejin nodded and focused on eating.
"It's so good!" Heejin said, feeling satisfied. Jaemin nodded, watching as the sugar stuck to her cheek. He reached off and wiped it off. Heejin froze and turned towards him. Her cheeks began to flush as he retracted his hand away. "T-thank you."
"You're welcome." Heejin got over her small flustered moment and continued to enjoy her food. Jaemin grinned as he watched her. Her cheeks puffed out as she continued to stuff food in her mouth. "You're so cute!"
Heejin flushed in embarrassment again and covered her face with her hand. Jaemin cooed at her reaction, finding her adorable.
"Stop," Heejjn whined, burying her face in her hand even more.
Jaemin laughed, nodding. "Alright, I will." Jaemin continued to admire the eating Heejin in silence. He felt glad to see her enjoying herself.
"Are you not going to eat?" Heejin asked, gesturing to the other corn dog on the plate. Jaemin leaned in and opened his mouth. Heejin placed hers on the paper food tray and lifted the other one to his mouth. Jaemin's eyes widened, surprised that she figured out what he wanted her to do.
Heejin giggled at his reaction. "Is that all you wanted?"
Jaemin nodded, lifting his hand, and continued to eat. Heejin noticed he had sugar on his cheeks this time. She lifted her hand to his cheek and wiped it away, then continued to eat. Jaemin froze and craned his head at her only to find Heejin in her little world.
Jaemin chuckled before finishing his food.
"I had fun today," Heejin said as they walked to throw away their trash.
"I did too," Jaemin replied, grinning at her.
Heejin couldn't help but smile back as she glanced at him. She glanced at the sky, squinting as the sun hit her eyes. "Surprisingly, I'm not tired. We've been out since 9 am, but I don't feel an ounce of tiredness,"
"I don't either. Maybe it's because I'm with you. You give me an energy boost." Jaemin placed his hands in his pocket and stared at the Cherry Blossoms nearby.
Heejin slapped his arm. "Don't say things like that!"
"But it's true!" Jaemin grabbed her write, making her startled.
"W-where are we going?" Heejin asked as Jaemin dragged her across the street.
"To take pictures," Jaemin said, glancing at her. Heejin nodded, letting him drag her. They stopped at the Cherry Blossoms, making her gulp.
"Does it have to be here?" Heejin asked in a soft voice. She stared at the trees in worry.
"Yes, why? I thought you like Cherry Blossoms?" Jaemin asked, stopping as he turned to face her. Heejin stared into his eyes and sighed.
"I do! I feel like there are too many people, that's why." She forced a smile. Jaemin frowned and stared at her in worry.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have dragged you here. I thought you liked it by the way you were staring at the necklace earlier," Jaemin said, letting go of her wrist.
Heejin smiled faded. "Don't be sorry. It's okay, really. I love Cherry Blossoms, I do. But every time I see them, I get reminded of a past I want to forget," Heejin explained, forcing a smile. "I'll take that picture with you."
"You shouldn't force yourself if you don't want to," Jaemin said worriedly. Heejin's face softened, and her heart warmed up by his words.
"No, seriously. It's fine. I should forget the past and move on. I should make new memories." Heejin stared into his eyes. "With someone new." A genuine smile formed on her lips.
Jaemin blinked back before breaking into a smile. "Okay then. Let's make some new memories!"
Heejin giggled at his enthusiasm and followed him. Jaemin mostly took pictures of Heejin standing next to the trees. He would give her random compliments every time she would strike a pose, making her burst out in laughter. Heejin took pictures of Jaemin as well. She went to extreme measures and laid on the ground to get the perfect angle. She even caught one of him laughing at her.
Finally, they asked a stranger to take a picture of them. Jaemin put his hands in his pocket while Heejin held a shopping bag with two hands in front of her. Heejin glanced at Jaemin and smiled. Jaemin noticed her stare and turned his head towards her. His eyes glanced at her lips before grinning at her.
"That's cute! Stay there," The stranger squealed, making Heejin laugh. "Perfect!"
"Do another pose! Turn to face each other!" The young girl said, grinning at the two. They did as told and faced each other. Jaemin laughed at Heejin's small form. "Now, lean in like you're about to kiss!"
Heejin flushed and turned towards the girl. "I-" Heejin froze as she felt a pair of lips on her cheek. Her cheeks flushed even more, making her lean away and snap her head at Jaemin.
"Jaem-" Her breath hitched as Jaemin leaned his face close to hers. She stared at him in shock as he grinned in accomplishment. She stared into his eyes that held a mischievous glint in them. "You know you don't have to do the pose she suggested." She whispered as he leaned his forehead against hers.
"Why not? I think it's fun," Jaemin said, the grin never left his face. A squeal made them break their eye contact. Heejin pulled away first and glanced at the young girl who held the phone.
"You guys are adorable!" Heejin smiled in embarrassment. "You should confess before someone takes him from you." The girl whispered in her ear before leaning away.
"Oh, I don't- It's not-"
"That's what they all say," The girl said, giggling.
"Yuri!" A voice called from behind the girl. She turned around and faced a tall handsome boy near her age. Heejin glanced at him, finding him familiar. "We're going to be late. Come on."
The girl, Yuri, turned to Heejin and handed her the phone. "Good luck! Don't be afraid to tell him. I'm rooting for you!"
