Chapter 10

Cora's P.O.V
I sighed softly as I watched Road mess around with Lenalee and Allen and I moved making a barrier and protected her from Allen's innocence.

"Why?! Why do you protect her?!" Allen yelled he was upset I turned my back on humanity.

"I don't have to answer to the likes of you boy; I have my reasons just like you do." Using my electricity and sent him flying as he hit a wall hard leaving an indent.

Road pouted as she swung Lero around on her finger. "Don't break them too much Cora; I want to play with them." She spike as she walked over to Lenalee who was already out of it from her ability to lock one's mind away.

I shook my head and froze as time rewinded around us and I cursed spinning seeing the scared woman had synched with her innocence. "Dang it!"

Road and I moved but watched as the innocence joined her and became a watch on her. I looked to Road. "Another time."

"Yeah; until then exorcists consider yourselves lucky. Soon we of the Noah family will destroy all innocence." Opening a door as we went back to the ark and I stopped her once we got back and worked on healing Road. "I'm alright Cora."

"I want to make sure Road; you took a few of the hits meant for me. Thank you." I looked to her and smiled softly till two sets of steps came our way and I saw Earl and Tyki.

Tyki looked relieved to see us both but I knew he saw that I had a few scratches and was getting tired from using my attacks and offensive abilities from the exorcists. "Are you Alright Cora? Road?"

I smiled softly. "Yeah just a little tired and sore." I blushed when Tyki hugged me gently close to him. "Hey I'm alright I promise."

Tyki sighed softly. "You both made it back that's all that matters. Come on let's go tend to those cuts." Checking the cuts that were on me before he led me away from Road and Earl as we headed to our room.

I walked besides Tyki quietly thinking back to the exorcists I didn't like the idea of hurting those my age and younger.

Tyki noticed that I was being quiet and hugged me close. "Such a heart of gold Cora; it doesn't matter wether or not their our enemies you still don't want to hurt them or worse."

"That's true I don't; I've spent most of my life trying to help all those that I could. It's why I want to be a doctor to save people." I looked ahead as we walked and I was confused when Tyki brought me into his room. "Tyki?"

"No one will bother us here; the twins rarely come in here it's usually Road but she's with Earl to get him to rest." Tyki grabbed a first aid kit as I sat on his bed removing my jacket. "Doubt I can save this jacket oh well."

Tyki chuckled and sat besides me as he started cleaning my wounds causing me to flinch as one reopened so the sanitizer from the clothe stung. "Sorry Cora."

"It's alright; it just means that the cleaner is doing it's job. Better be safe then sorry." I smiled softly as I watched him thankfully I was wearing a tank top under my shirt for situations like this.

"Will you join me for supper tonight my dear? It's been awhile since we have had any time to ourselves."

I smiled softly as a light blush appeared across my cheeks. "I'd love too Tyki; when and where?"

"Don't worry about that dress casually; you will love where I'm having our supper for us. And I'm thinking that seven would be good." Tyki cleaned up and I helped him out as I got up being careful of my now bandaged wounds.

"I'll be ready by then I promise. Do I need to dress warmly?" Throwing the garbage out as Tyki put away the first aid kit of which I made a mental note to restock it later with what was taken out of it for me.

Tyki chuckled softly. "Yes it would be a good idea; for now rest and relax for a bit you need it. I'll see you later Cora." Tyki pecked my forehead before he left and I was blushing darker then a tomato.

Once I was alone I walked over to my French doors and opened them onto the balcony where I walked out too and sighed softly taking a deep breath to relax.

I leaned against the railing and looked out over the town I could see that some akuma were moving around and heard movement as I looked up seeing the twins racing each other and I smiled softly shaking my head.

I enjoyed it when things were quiet and calm and that there was no fighting. I thought about what Earl told me that between him and Road they were making a new ark and I became curious about what Road told me that there used to be thirteen Noah and that the thirteenth was after something.

I cursed softly to myself as I looked at the time and saw I had lots of time as I walked to the library and went to look for any information that I could find on the Noah family something didn't feel right to me.

As I was in the library I heard footsteps and looked up as I had just finished putting a book back and looked to the time I hadn't been in the room very long around half an hour at best.

"What brings you here Cora?" A male voice spoke and I was surprised to see that the Earl was awake.

"Just passing some time my lord; I thought that Road was going to try and get you to rest." Watching the Earl as he sat and saw how tired he looked.

"Yes she tried but this time it seems that thinking of the fourteenth has made sleeping harder for me today. Tyki said that he's taking you out a date tonight you both need it; actually Tyki seems happier since he met you back then." Earl smiled softly as he sat in a comfy chair.

I blushed smiling softly. "Tyki's a blessing in my life that's for sure. Tyki and our human friends have been helpful and keep encouraging me through out the time I have been studying in the medical field. Actually it was Tyki that found me when I was struggling to get by and he asked me to join the group; Sure I figured it was weird about how he left often but I never questioned it so long as he came back safely."

Earl smiled softly. "Tyki loves talking about his group of human friends; when he started talking about you I couldn't help but found it cute; but...he was happy he found someone that he could connect with. He said if he even came back late you would wake up or would still be awake waiting for him."

I chuckled softly. "Yeah I do that still; I guess I just want to see him first and make sure that he's alright. I woke up one night and had gone outside where I was looking at the stars; Tyki came back and caught me outside he joined me for a little while before we went inside. The boy in the group loved it whenever Tyki came back as well and I found it cute that Tyki always found him something that he liked; I know he's the Noah of pleasure but..."

"Tyki's got more humanity then much of the family as you will find out. Actually earlier when Tyki found out you were on a mission with Road he became worried he did good playing it cool but I could tell that he didn't want anything happening to you."

I smiled happily as Earl said that. "That's how it's always been with us; since we met we have always watched out for each other. He worries about those he cares for and so do I; we can both agree on that."
