Chapter 13

Sheriff POV

I look down just as Stiles's eyes shoot open, he quickly springs up from the table taking several deep breathes, before he looks around as if he is trying to work out where he was or what was currently happening.

"Well that sucked" Stiles states bluntly before his eyes roll back into his head and he falls backwards landing with a loud clunk, I stand frozen as Melissa shouts to Rafael to press the emergency button on the wall behind him.

A team of doctors quickly come rushing in as a nurse pushes us all out of the way to allow them room to work on Stiles. Melissa seems to be commanding everything as they lift him onto the gurney and they whisk him away with Melissa running behind shouting for us to wait here and she would come back when she can.

I quickly turn my full attention to Chris, I need answers on what the heck had just happened. Before I could even ask him a single question, Derek storms forward and lifts Chris off the ground and slams him hard into the wall.

"Did you do this too him? Are you working for W.I.C.K.E.D?" Derek growls at him, while holding onto his throat, his eyes shining blue as he squeezes causing Chris to gasp for breath.

"Derek, let him go now! He can't exactly answer us if you are cutting off his air supply, now can he?" I state placing a hand on his shoulder trying to calm him.

As soon as I place my hand on his shoulder, I feel the tension leave his body as he lets Chris go before stepping away taking deep breaths to calm himself while Chris gasps in some well needed air.

"Thank you! Now firstly thank you Chris for saving my Son's life. Secondly do you care to explain what on earth is happening?" I state directly to Chris after giving him a chance to catch his breath again.

"No need to thank me, this was all Stiles's doing. I don't know everything but I received a call from Stiles about two weeks ago, he advised he had received news from a source within W.I.C.K.E.D that they had planned to kill him. Somehow he knew all the details including how it was going to happen so he requested for me to track down an antidote to cure a type of poison that he had been informed that they were going to use against him." Chris starts to explain what he knew to everyone.

"He advised that his source had been caught before he tell him when it was going to happen just that he had knew that Janson was going to personally complete it. For weeks I listened closely to the scanner waiting for it to happen then it did, the plane was for me to meet the group at the location and advise the plan before giving him the antidote.

As you can gather something's didn't quite go to plan, I arrived at the location too late and he was already loaded into the back of the coroner's van and was on the way here. I had to get here quickly as the poison only has a short window of where the antidote can be administered before it is permanent. That is why I had to inject it directly to his heart instead of his leg or arm otherwise he would have been dead permanently this time." Chris finishes explaining and I am shocked by what I have just heard.

"So this is the heavy weight that he has been carrying around with him, knowing he was about to be murdered without anyway to stop it happening." I state looking down as I feel tears start to run out of my eyes.

"He did stop it though! He's alive and now we know the full extent of what has been happening with him we can get a plan to take them down and keep him safe together. I'm sorry Chris, I should have trusted you." Derek voices as I hear footsteps walking towards me before stopping as I feel arms wrap me in a tight hug.
