Third Person POV
The Safe Haven was a hype of activity ever since Stiles and Lydia had agreed to hold their wedding with them, the amphitheatre has been covered in lights with additional hammocks been added to the sleeping areas so guests can stay the night before and night of the wedding.
Thomas, Scott and Stiles had all been seen pitching in where they can or huddled together either working on speeches or vows. Lydia would arrive every other day and inspect the work completed and give her own opinion on placing or colour arrangements.
Two weeks before the wedding date, Stiles and Thomas were called for a special assignment from the FBI which had put everyone's nerves on the edge especially for Lydia with it been so close to the wedding.
"Lyds, please don't worry about us. This is a week long assignment tops and besides I have Thomas with me, what possibly could go wrong?" Stiles advises when he hugs Lydia goodbye as him and Thomas prepare to leave in his Jeep.
"You remember the promise you made me, I have already almost lost you too many time, I am not risking this again. Just promise me you will come back to me!" Lydia advises trying and failing to not let her worry show before they leave.
"Remember what we always say, no matter where we are or where we have gone, I will always find my way back to you. Remember I love you." Stiles advises before giving Lydia a final kiss and hug goodbye before quickly saying goodbye to Scott and Sheriff.
"Don't worry Lydia, I will bring him back. No matter what. If it helps just think of it more as I am taking him on a week long Stag do." Thomas states before proceeding to hug Lydia, Scott and Sheriff goodbye himself as the boys climb into the Jeep and drive away from the Safe Haven.
Preparations continue and by time the week was up there was nothing left to be done, Vince had been ordained online ready to complete the service, Scott had collected his, Stiles and Thomas's suits from the suit shop and had them hanging on the back of his door. Lydia had completed the final fittings on her dress and had carefully selected her jewellery for the big day.
During her final fitting she was surprised with a present from Stiles, inside the box was a pair of white heeled trainers. Lydia laughed when she saw them as she always joked she wished she was a girl who loved trainers and not high heels.
When she placed them on with her dress she noticed how perfect they matched, when placing them back in the box she noticed an engraving on the side with the date of the wedding along with her and Stiles's initials.
The only thing missing currently was the Groom himself and one of his Groomsmen, Scott picked Lydia up after her dress appointment so they could arrive at the Sheriff station together as it was agreed they would meet the boys there once they had returned.
When they arrived the station it seemed more busier then normal, Scott spots his Dad in Sheriff's office with the door closed so he directs them both that way before knocking on the door expecting to see Stiles and Thomas on the sofa, however when the door opens it is empty.
"Dad, Sheriff what's going on? Where are Stiles and Thomas?" Scott asks them both needing to know what has happened to the duo.
"There has been a complication with their mission, Stiles and Thomas are still not back. The communication we have received from them has been very limited and very vague in the details they do provide." Rafael answers the questions asked trying to not look at Lydia mainly, as a small guilt fills him as he didn't try to stop the mission.
"What do you mean they are still on mission? This was meant to last for one week maximum, me and Stiles are getting married in seven days!" Lydia states forcefully to the two men making them shake in their shoes and pale slightly.
"We did receive another message that states, tell Lydia I am sorry for the delay, I love her and I will meet her at the Alter." Sheriff explains before handing them a full copy of the communication they had with Stiles and Thomas.
"I knew it! I knew I should have never let him go on this mission. I had such a bad feeling about it as soon as he told me but I just pushed it down not wanting to hold him back as I know this is his job." Lydia starts ranting and pacing back and forth shouting at no one but herself.
"Lydia, this is not your fault okay. They are both big boys who are very capable of making their own decisions, this can happen at any time on missions. Only what 40% every run to the deadline they are set. But I know Stiles will do everything he can to return home to you in time for the wedding, you are his anchor at the end of the day." Rafael advises trying to calm her down which seems to work slightly.
"Do you promise me, that he will be home for the wedding?" Lydia demands and Rafael makes the promise to her, deep down hoping that he can keep it otherwise there will be hell to pay.
"Lydia, I promise you he will return in time for the wedding. He wouldn't miss this for the world." Rafael promises while receiving supportive looks from Sheriff and Scott.
Over the week leading up to the wedding, Rafael along with Sheriff and Parrish try everything they can to get in contact with Stiles or Thomas, if only just to receive an update but receive no messages back. Scott and Malia are trying to keep Lydia occupied with wedding details hoping to keep her mind off the fact that Stiles is missing yet again.
A few days before the wedding, Lydia, Malia and Scott moved into the bunks in the Safe Haven as planned, it seems to help them calm them more to be surrounded by the Gladers, who are worrying also about the location of both Stiles and Thomas. At night they tell stories of the time in the Maze and the funniest memories of both Stiles and Thomas, both when they were together and separate. Lydia, Malia and Scott listen with interest with these stories before telling stories of Stiles before W.I.C.K.E.D.
The day before the wedding everyone else invited to the wedding arrives, some are already aware of the current situation with Stiles and Thomas so provide great comfort to Lydia and Sheriff during the day time. Scott left with Rafael in the morning to try and track down any new leads on Stiles and Thomas but come back a few hours later just looking extremely tired and some what disappointed.
That night as everyone heads to bed, Scott notices Lydia stood at the remembrance stone and could hear her talking to it, he tried hard not to listen but her voice carried louder in the quite place.
"I don't know if you can hear me or I am just a crazy person speaking to a rock with names on it but please can you bring them home to me." Lydia states as Scott heads over to stand next to her and wraps her into a tight hug.
The morning of the wedding arrives and thick tension has settled over the Safe Haven, everyone assumed Stiles and Thomas would have arrived by now but there is still no sign of the duo. Rafael is pacing on the phone trying to get any updates while Natalie, Melissa, Brenda and Malia are all helping Lydia to get ready.
As Lydia walks down the Aisle to a soft violin playing she notices that only Scott is stood at the other end with Vince. As she hands Malia the bouquet she turns to face Scott and keeps looking around hoping to see Stiles. Before she can ask Rafael what was happening, a helicopter arrives landing a short distance away from them.
"I told you they would make it" Rafael states nodding towards the helicopter as two gentleman in suits exit the helicopter and causally walk towards them.
