Chapter 29

A/N - yep another update tonight - decided to try and smash through these amendments

Scott POV

It has taken the FBI agents three hours! Three long hours, to realise we have no idea where Stiles was currently or what he was planning? It took them an extra hour, to stop trying to charge Lydia with helping a suspect escape custody but that was quickly squashed by one phone call from Dad to those in charge of the investigation.

Thomas seems to have had it the worse of everyone even Lydia, he had been with Stiles on the mission so they were trying to squeeze every details about it out of him. Abigail was constantly on different phone calls after she had a long chat with the Agent in charge who wouldn't give us his name and advised we should only call him Agent.

We all gathered in Sheriff's office once we finished with been interviewed, I arrive to find Derek, Dad, Sheriff, Mum and Parrish already inside and I was closely followed in by Malia, Lydia and Chris who seems most confused as he was late arriving to wedding so only came to the second part in time to see Stiles escape.

I was surprised at how calm Lydia seemed to be taking all of this, I know she was with Stiles just before so may have known some of what had happened or was happening. I did notice when she was sat down she seemed to be holding tightly onto an envelope and keeps going to open it but then changes her mind. But the thing that seems to be rattling my brain most was what Stiles had said to Abigail when we were last gathered in this room.

"Abigail, what did Stiles mean earlier when he said to you 'Forest is greener on the other side'?" I enquire catching everyone's attention as they all turn to face where Abigail was stood.

"Wow I have not heard that saying in years! If I remember correctly, it normally means that someone has switched sides." Chris answers before looking at Abigail to confirm what he was think was correct which she nodded to show that it is.

Thomas finally arrives in the room looking as though if someone asked him a single question he may tell them where to shove their question. He walks over and sits next to where Lydia is sitting before placing his head into his hands.

"This is all my fault! If I hadn't of got hurt so bad, Stiles would be here with us right now." Thomas states to himself while gently rocking back and forth.

"Tom, listen to me closely. None of this is not your fault, Stiles is old enough and wise enough to make his own decisions. No matter what anyone would have said to him he would have still made the same choice he did. No one knows really what goes on in that mind of his." Dad states placing a hand on Thomas's shoulder and it made me realise properly for the first time, how close him and Stiles have gotten since Stiles started with the FBI.

"We need to find a way to contact him to find out what is happening. The FBI just added him to the Most Wanted list with quite a large award been attached to him with large letters of dead or alive on the poster." Parrish advises reading out what was showing on his phone before showing us all.

"Abigail, what is Interpol saying about all of this? How long has he been working with you anyway?" Dad asks as he seems to know about Stiles working for both but not all the details. I have kinda been wondering this also.

"Interpol are currently trying to take control of the investigation as Stiles is one of our most senior agents. To answer your question officially it has been about two years, unofficially he has been working with us since his freshman year of high school." Abigail answers and I have to admit I was not expecting that answer.

"Hang on, Stiles started working for you the same year that I became a Werewolf! How did that happen?" I ask amazed Stiles was able to keep this hidden from us all for this long and also curious as to why it happened at the same time the Supernatural world arrived with us.

"It is actually due to you why he started working for us, he made a deal long ago to work for us in exchange for us leaving you and your pack alone. We agreed to this and have only interjected on a few occasions when he needed our help but we couldn't be there all the time otherwise we would of helped when he was possessed." Abigail explains looking upset when she mentions the possession, that was a bad time for everyone but mainly Stiles.

"So what do we do now? How do we find my son?" Sheriff spoke for the first time since we had all arrived in the room after been interrogated.

"The answer is we do nothing! Stiles knows what he is doing and will find us once he is able to, we need to carry on as normal." Lydia answers still holding the envelope tight in her hands as she lifts her head to look at us.

"What do you mean do nothing? He is out there with those he once called colleagues and maybe even friends hunting him down like he is an escaped animal and you want us to do nothing. This is your Husband we are talking about." Derek states unhappy with Lydia's answer but deep down I knew she was right.

"It's what he would want us to do!" Lydia snaps back at Derek before looking down at the envelope in her hands once again.

"Lydia, does this have something to do with what's in that envelope?" Malia asks and I am glad I am not the only one that had noticed it in her hand.

"When he was saying goodbye to me, he made me a promise that he would come home to me one way or another. He also asked me to not let Thomas go after him but I am guessing he meant everyone. Before we parted he handed me this saying he tried to write down everything he can explain at this time, as to why he had to do this and how this all happened." Lydia starts advising as she gently moves the envelope in her hand.

"What does it say?" Chris asks walking over towards Mum and gripping her hand, while gently tears runs down her face.

"I can't bring myself to open it just yet, but I have to believe that he is doing this for the right reasons." Lydia states before placing the envelope inside her bag to keep it safe.

Abigail's phone dings and she quickly grabs her phone from the desk and reads the message with a relived look appearing quickly on her face as she does.

"What's happened?" Thomas asks instantly looking at Abigail noticing the relief on her face also, hoping as I am that Stiles has been found safely.

"Interpol have been given permission to take over the hunt for Stiles from the FBI. I also have been given permission to remove the alive or dead part from the Most Wanted Poster as the priority is to get him back alive. I along with Interpol know Stiles would only risk all of this for something big!" Abigail advise reading the message on her phone.

"I think right now, the best thing we can all do is head home and get some rest. We can meet up again tomorrow to discuss things more." Sheriff advises and I nod in agreement as the events of the day are catching up with me.
