SET RIGHT AFTER THE LAST OLYMPIAN

Percy didn't feel like waking up. He just wanted to sleep but unfortunately, The Fates had something else planned.

"Percy." Someone was calling his name.

Percy rolled over on his bed. "Five more minutes, mom."

The Someone laughed. "Seaweed Brain, I'm not your mom."

"Yea- Wait!" Percy scrambled up into a sitting position. "Annabeth!?"

She was kneeling down on the floor next to his bed, a smirk planted on her face.

"You were drooling." She commented casually.

Percy hurriedly wiped it away, eyes still wide. "You're not meant to be here! I mean- we're alone and the rules-"

Annabeth rolled her eyes and stood up. "Honestly, Percy. If I hadn't come in to wake you up, you would've missed breakfast."

"Thank god you came then," He muttered, finally standing up too. There was no point in sleeping now, not with Annabeth so close and the thoughts of breakfast edging him on.

Annabeth grinned. "That's what I thought." She stood on her tippy toes and kissed him.

Percy's heart stopped beating. A hundred thoughts flew through his mind. He'd just woken up, and his breath probably stunk. He was also sweaty and still half asleep.

"I don't think Chiron's going to be too happy with this." He muttered to her but Annabeth only laughed.

"Get dressed Seaweed Brain. Mess Hall in five."

She went to the door and dissapeared outside, but not a second later, her head popped back in. The sly smile in her lips were kind of scary. "Bye the way Percy, you're forgetting something very important."

* * *

Annabeth didn't tell him what he was missing at breakfast. He sat with Grover (who wouldn't stop talking about the flowers he was going to get for Juniper).

Annabeth sat the Athena table. Only because Mr. D was watching them carefully; too carefully actually.

Then after breakfast, she went back to her own cabin with Malcolm and Percy didn't get a chance to talk again. He had to go and pack his bags for home.

And he was scared that he might not get a chance to say a proper good bye to Annabeth, even though they'd agreed to meet at Thalia's Pine.

Those last few weeks with her had been perfect. So perfect he was scared of loosing it all. It felt so fragile. Every kiss, every moment holding hands; it felt like a treasure and he didn't want to ruin it.

He did feel like he was forgetting something though, and it was driving him mad. Usually, he wouldn't have cared. But this was Annabeth. How could he not care? What if she had a second, secret birth date that he didn't know about?

The Aphrodite girls were definitely more giggly than usual; and there was Grover in the woods giving Juniper those flowers. But all that was really nothing unusual. The Aphrodite girls were always giggly and Grover was always giving Juniper flowers.

At noon, when his bags were all ready to be lugged back home, he went up to Thalia's pine.

Sure enough, Annabeth was there.

She smiled at him and he wondered how the world had suddenly taken on such a bright and beautiful glow.

"Hey Seaweed Brain." Annabeth said.
