He was lost.

She couldn't believe it. She had loved him. Thrown her heart at him. Gave him all that was to be called hers. And yet, here he was kissing that other girl. That spiteful brat of a girl.

It had been a mere accident when they met but ever since she saw him, she could do nothing but think of him. His eyes. His hair. She had known, from the moment she lay eyes on him, they were meant to be together. He was the one.

So she allowed herself to love him, knowing the consequences but ready to face them just this once. For him.

But oh, fate could be so cruel sometimes.

Had she known that he would've ripped her heart out like this...

If she had known what this love would have done to her...

She looked up at the couple sitting on the bench just inside the park from where she was standing as still as a brick. They looked so tall, looming above her, trying to intimidate her, not even caring that she stood there before their eyes, oblivious to the children running around every where.

His blonde hair was blowing slightly in the cool wind. The scar on his upper lip was more prominent than ever. His blue eyes sparkling as he laughed.

She was resting her head against his shoulder, smiling brightly. She looked like nothing to her. In her opinion, she herself was much better looking that this other girl. She had brown hair, falling in uneven lengths to her shoulders. Her eyes shimmered in so many different colours, blue one second, then green, brown, red, pink, purple. Flickering at the speed of lightning. So fast that it was undefinable.

Brick watched them. A silent tear rolling down her bricky cheek.

(A/N. If you can't tell, it's that brick that hit Jason's head.)

"Yeah. He broke my heart too." Someone said from behind her. Brick turned around a little, her imaginary locks flying out behind her. There, right behind her sat a a red clicky thing.

"My name is Stapler." He said with a smile at her.

"Hi. I'm Brick." Brick said shyly.

"Hey."

"Wait." Realisation suddenly dawned on Brick. "You're a guy. And...he's a guy." She said, cocking her head at Jason.

"Yeah." Stapler admitted, "I'm actually bi."

"Oh, cool." Brick said, smiling. Her smile melted the edges of Stapler's plastic heart.

"You know." Stapler started. "I ran away from my home. They were abusive to me. Always pinching my back and clipping things using my teeth. It hurt. So I ran. I was captured and put into this box."

Brick mover closer to him to show that she was listening.

"They took me away to a prison. It was called..." He blinked back tears. "The Store."

Brick gasped.

"Then this family came. They took me to their home. There was a mother but she was drunk and stuff. The girl was nice. The little two year old boy. He was the cutest little thing. That's him." He nodded towards Jason, who was now kissing Piper's forehead lovingly.

"It was love at first sight." Stapler said dreamily. "Then one day, he picked me up. I was so excited. It was finally happening. So I, I kissed him and-" he sobbed. "And he cried and ran away. He threw me away and he cried, running to his sister. I was never the same. There was always a hole in my heart since that day."

Brick pulled him into her arms, holding him there as he cried.

She watched as Jason and Piper leaned in.

When she looked back down at Stapler, he was staring at her. They drew closer until their surfaces met.

And sparks flew.

"You know that hole?" Stapler said. "It's gone. I feel complete."
