Also I will be referring to y/n as a she in this story.
Lastly, this is written in third person, but it is mostly narrated around you.
3rd person pov:
"Cadet Y/n, please come forward to accept your rise in the hierarchy." A deep voice announced. A tall grey haired man with a slim build stood straight, his robe covering him. His mustache stretched along his face meeting with his beard.
The Cadet placed her fist across her chest, before kneeling down. She than was given a jacket with the Survey Corps logo on the left shoulder and front pouch.
The man than completed his speech before letting the crowd leave.
Relief swept through your body as that moment had ended, only for you to then become tense again as you heard your name be called.
Your eyes turned to a man with slick blonde hair and thick eye brows gesturing you towards him.
"We have a meeting, come along now." He spoke, in a demanding tone.
You followed behind him. It was Commander Erwin Smith. A man who had no fear, and what many had said, no empathy. He didn't care about his soldiers, and was only here for the civilians sake.
The two of you entered a room with a large round table. Many people where sitting in the chairs, papers stacked in front of them. A few familiar faces were in the bunch like: Captain Levi, Hange, Hannes, Mike and Pyxis.
You had sat down in the empty chair next to Hange and gave her a smile. Her eyes were full of excitement, as she shifted in her seat.
"First of all I would like to welcome Captain Y/n and congratulate her for her achievements." Everyone gave a small clap.
It was weird for someone to call you by your full first name. Usually everyone else called you by your nickname, except for now Erwin, and the King.
Erwin continued. "She has killed 16 titans in the last 3 years. She has gone on 4 expeditions and has show great courage and determination. This young lady has also demonstrated great leadership skills and the ability to make quick decisions." Erwin said, as everyone cheered in shock at your accomplishments.
"Now I will talk about things you lack. This isn't meant to offend you, but to help the others know you better." Erwin stated.
"Tch, that's what you always say. These are just insults." Levi said, sipping his tea, holding it in an odd way.
The commander gave Levi a stare before clearing his throat. "Anyways, Y/n. You seem to have a hard time controlling your emotions. The anger you possess can grow very strong and cause you to act carelessly and violent, like someone else." He said, smacking the raven haired boys head as he clearly wasn't listening.
"You also seem to have so much love for your companions that it can be hurtful on how you preform. Now, is this a true statement?" He asked you.
You rose to your feet before replying, "Sir, the only way my feelings toward my comrades interfere is when I could be hurting them. I would like to put them before myself, sacrificing me for them. That is my way of doing things sir." You spoke clearly, as if this came natural to you. Even though on the inside, it felt like 100 bouncy balls were bouncing in your stomach.
"Thank you for the explanation." He said, allowing you to sit back down.
"Now on a positive note, this seems to help you. Everyone here thinks foundly of you. They notice how kind of a person you are and how much work you put into this job. You clearly do put your life on the line all in order to protect the civilians and your comrades. We appreciate everything you have done for us in these past years, and are glad to have you." He spoke, his words were comforting and lifted your ego tremendously. You had kept your cool, but all you wanted to do was dance around and cheer.
"Wow, your speech is so much cooler than mine. I didn't even have a titan kill before I was uplifted!" Hange pouted.
"You have 4 Hange, and I have 23. Step it up." Levi snickered, clearly looking for a competition to arise.
"No! I will not kill them anymore. You kill them but they are just misunderstood." She said dramatically. "Plus n/n will catch up to you for me. Wait! Forget I said that, please don't kill them." She begged, her hands grasping yours.
You laughed at her before speaking. "I can't promise you that, but I will not go out of my way to kill them. I will only kill if they are putting my people in danger."
"Ahem." Erwin coughed, signaling everyone to pay attention. "I am not done here. Now Y/n, you seem to work well with two cadets from the 104 corps group. Reiner Braun and Bertolt Hoover. Is that correct?" He asked.
You have a simple nod, letting him continue.
"Great. Those two young men will be under your command. Starting tomorrow you will start training them, and getting used to their skills." The commander spoke quickly, "now off you all go. Thank you for your time."
The group all congratulated you one more time before exiting and heading back to their rooms. You were last out due to the fact, causing you and Erwin to be left alone.
"Commander, thank you for boosting my ego." You chuckle, rubbing the back of your neck.
"Of course." He stated.
Erwin was never the man to carry on a normal conversation for too long, unless it was with Levi or Hange. His word were intricate and all had strong meaning to them.
You gave a salute before exiting the room, heading towards the cadets court.
Your fist lightly pounded against a wood door. A man with blonde hair opened it, with a grin on his face. "n/n! You coming to stay the night?" He winked.
"No Reiner." You chuckle, "I am telling you and Bertolt that you two are apart of my team!" She smiled.
Reiner grabs you in one arm, spinning you around. "Yay!! I could never ask for a better captain." He cheered. His other arm grabbed his friend , pulling him close, bouncing up and down.
The three of you laughed as you enjoyed the thought of working together. This is something you never want to loose. The smiles on their face, the light in there eyes, and these two boys themselves.
"Well I have to get going now, be ready for training by sunrise tomorrow! It won't be easy, i'm letting you know now!" You smiled, waving a goodbye.
