3rd person pov:"Your input wasn't needed. I am not trying to start something with the Military Police." Erwin said, looking at you with his emotionless stare.
"Sir, I believe I wasn't in the wrong here. He was dehumanizing one of our comrades, and I defended him. He talked poorly about the guy who wasn't even present to defend himself." You replied, crossing your arms.
He sighed as his gaze fell down to his shoes. "I guess you are right, sorry about the miscommunication. You may leave if you like."
You nodded and headed for the door, turning back once more to see Erwin's head in his hands. A frown appeared on your face as you walked back towards him.
"Commander, may I ask what's wrong?"
"It's nothing Y/n." He replied, still keeping his face hidden.
"I know you're lying, what's wrong?" You asked, pulling his hands away from his face.
You were shocked to see tears falling from his eyes. This was a rare sight that not many people have seen before. It had made you quiet sad to see this, and you pulled him into a hug. His soft face burred itself into the crook of your neck. He started to sob, dampening your jacket.
After sitting in that position for a few moments, Erwin backed up, failing to make eye contact.
"Do you want to talk about it sir?" You asked, your arms still resting on his shoulders.
"Well Y/n to be honest with you." He sniffled, struggling to get the words out. "I have always refused to get close to anyone because I know that some day I or they might die. I have only cared for the people who were extremely strong, and I know could come out of every situation alive."
"Yes I understand that, but what is the point of all of this?" You asked, trying to catch his watery gaze.
"I have failed. I have gotten close to someone, and now I am extremely afraid to loose them. I know they can make it out of any situation, but it just feels different this time. I am just so scared." Erwin said, exposing his soft side.
"May I ask who this person is?"
A smile appeared on his face as his eyes finally met with yours. "What are you dumb? It's you, you idiot." He giggled.
"Really? Wow, I never knew I could make the commander become so soft. Well I mean, who wouldn't care about me." You joked, causing him to laugh even more.
That all stopped when his lips suddenly collided with yours. This was the same exact situation you had with Reiner. Thoughts began to cross your mind, is he making fun of Reiner and I or is he actually being truthful. Of course he is you idiot, Erwin wouldn't cry or laugh unless he was on his death bed.
The softness of his lips sent shivers down your spine. Everything in this moment felt so right. The kiss, the hand placement, the air, the smell, everything. This caused a smile to creep into the kiss, causing the two of you to open your eyes.
Erwin had pulled away, pressing his forehead against yours. "What's so funny? Am I a bad kisser?" He chuckled.
"No, I'm just surprised that you are like this. But don't worry, I enjoy this side of you." You smiled again, using your hand to lock into his blonde hair, pulling his lips towards yours. They connected again, causing you to feel happiness.
"Well, I must be heading back to my room now. I have to pack up somethings before the trip tomorrow." You mumbled, trying to pull away.
"But I don't want you to leave yet." Erwin said, keeping your lips locked with his. A laughed escaped between the two of you as you finally pulled away.
"Come on, I have to go now." You said, his firm grip still around your waist.
"Fine. Get a good nights rest. I will be waiting for you at breakfast with everyone else." He smiled, releasing you.
Waving him goodbye you crept out the door, heading back to your room. You had placed a canteen full of water in your bag followed by a few snacks, extra socks, your robe and some supplies for your horse. The ODM gear you had would be around your waist, so you didn't need to worry about that.
After you finished packing you were drained. Taking off your uniform and putting sleep wear on, you slipped into your bed, and closed your eyes, quickly falling asleep.
-time skip to next morning-
The bright light shined into your room from the large window. Rolling to your opposite side you let out a groan, still feeling a little tired. That feeling went away when you realized it was the day of the expedition. It caused you to jump out of bed and quickly change. You had put a white long sleeve on and pants. You placed your light brown jacket on top than a black belt. Lastly, you put on your brown sock and tall brown boots. You checked yourself in the mirror one more time before turning and heading for the dinning hall.
"Good morning everyone." You smiled, waving at the other captains and the commander. They all returned a wave as food was being placed on their plates.
"Good luck today, stay safe." A chef said to you, tears forming in her eyes.
"Thank you so much. Don't you worry, I will come back after the expedition and teach you guys some more tricks." You smiled, sticking your arm out, giving a thumbs up.
She nodded and placed a piece of bread on your dish along with rice and miso soup. Everyone had sat down and started eating.
After breakfast the cadets started to swarm in, getting their share of food. This allowed the higher ranking people to prepare everything before everyone had to come out.
You got to your horse and placed its saddle and bridle on. "I hope you are ready to run today Kage." He nuzzled your arm as you rubbed his head.
"I hope so too. Wouldn't need you slowing us down." Levi sneered, walking past you with his horse.
"Right. Like I would be the one to slow us down, and not you." You replied, sticking your tongue out.
"Don't stick your tongue out unless you want particles of feces' on them." He gagged, exiting the barn. You frantically started to rub your tongue in disgust, hoping he was lying.
Everyone had finished eating and had met at the front gate. It was time to start the expedition. Many citizens came out and wished you good luck, mostly parents of the cadets. The other citizens had no care for the survey corps what so ever. This made you kind of sad, but it was understandable.
Reiner and Bertolt were stationed behind you in the formation. You turned around to them and smiled. "Oh I almost forgot!" You said, reaching into your pocket. Three bracelets appeared in your hand, and you gestured the two boys to take one.
"I made these for us. It indicates that we will always be by each others side, no matter what." You smiled, slipping one onto your wrist. They were each a different shade of blue, resembling the ocean. Like Armin, you have always had a fascination for it. The ocean also was like being by your side, since it surrounded your whole island.
The two boys thanked you and slipped them on. Smiles appeared on their faces.
"Okay. Levi, Y/n, Petra, and Oluo,(two people from Levi's squad) you are set to go out and lead the titans away. Your horses will be waiting for you when we leave this wall. Now onward, lets start this mission!" Erwin shouted, causing people to shift in their saddle.
This was just the beginning of what was going to be a long and terrifying expedition.
