Painful Memories

3rd person pov:

Your heart sank. Slowly, your gaze rose up to the commanders. Your eyes were full of fear and surprise.

"You are joking right? You are just trying to lighten the mood, right?" You asked, wiggling in your seat.

Erwin frowned and grabbed your hands. "I'm not." He answered.

"Stop, you are lying. You have to be lying! They wouldn't hurt us. They wouldn't hurt the innocent citizens!" You yelled at him, throwing his hands off of yours. Jumping up to your feet your voice became hoarse. "Stop lying to me Commander. Stop it!"

He didn't answer. Instead, he just looked at you, a frown still on his face.

"Commander please." You cried out, grabbing onto the collar of his shirt. "Please tell me you're lying."

He tucked your h/c hair behind your ear. "I'm sorry sweetheart. I am telling you the truth."

You let go of his collar. Confusion and anger surging through your body. His warm arms pulled your waist close to his.

"Please don't be upset with me. I felt like it was right to tell you." He placed a kiss on your forehead. The commander went for another one but you pulled away. His gaze followed you as you walked out of the room, slamming the door behind you. Erwin let out a heavy sigh, rubbing his forehead. Levi soon entered his room, sitting on the couch across from him.

"What was that all about?" He asked, crossing his legs over one another.

"I told her about the secret mission to capture Annie, and she didn't want to believe me." Erwin lied, saying it coldly.

"Tsk, I am not surprised she acted like that. She can't keep her emotions in check." Levi muttered.

"Not true, if anything she is one of the best at hiding them. She keeps a smile on everyone's faces no matter the circumstance. The only time she lets them out is when she is alone, or if the situation is life threatening." The commander snapped back.

"Seems like you two have been getting quiet fond of each other lately." Levi ignored his statement, knowing he was wrong.

"And?"

"It's just not like you. You haven't held anyone close to you since I can even remember."

Erwin sighed again, resting his fist on his face. His mind was racing, is she going to mention it to anyone? No, she only can talk to me about it, she knows better. What do I do if others find out? What do I do about them, I can't just have them roam free. I have to use Y/n as a spy, but she won't be up for it. What to do, what to do.

"I'll just leave you here to get lost in your thoughts." Levi groaned, leaving the office.

-time skip-

"Commander, Wall Rose has been infiltrated by titans." Nanaba (mike's comrade) yelled to the bushy browed man. Erwin rose to his feet, slightly confused. He grabbed his cape and flew out the door, demanding Nanaba to alert the recruits.

On the other side, Mike was leading the present members. He demanded them to spread the news, and help evacuate citizens. He also took some of the soldiers and killed 5 of the 9 titans. He had than encountered the Beast Titan. Mike was booted of his horse, than had it thrown at him. Fortunately, he lived, but than became of interest to the titan. The monkey titan started to ask him questions, leaving Mike speechless. He than stole the captains ODM gear and left.

Sixteen hours had passed before Erwin had made his way to the Trost District. His goal was to talk to Commander Pixis about the current event, and how to proceed.
