3rd person pov:

The two of you entered in the hall and headed for the rows of food. You smiled at the chefs as they placed food on your plate.

"And a little extra rice for the beautiful girl and the strong commander." She said, placing an extra scoop on your plates. "Oh n/n, we also have some left over bread from last night, would you like it?"

"Really? Yes please! Thank you so much!" You replied, your face lighting up.

The commander gave a nod to the chef before heading for the table with Hange, Mike and Pixis. Levi and Hannes were no where to be seen, clearly still shocked from this morning. You followed behind the commander, sitting next to Hange, waving to her.

"Oh my sweet n/n, you look so pretty today! It is like a light is shinning on you. Wait, you have finally decided to sit with us! She is all grown up, oh my." She announced, hugging you.

"Hange, you are always so kind." You chuckled, hugging her back. "I felt like today would be the perfect day to swing by since an expedition is coming up this week!" You smiled.

This week was right before the 57th expedition outside the walls. Everyone seemed to be on edge. Some excited, while others were jumping out of their skin. No one would know who would come back from the expedition or who wouldn't. This also made you worry, not only about yourself, but your friends.

Everyone had finished breakfast so you offered to take their bowls. They all nodded, accepting the offer. You than placed them away and thanked the chefs.

Your h/l h/c bounced behind you as you skipped over to the table you usually sat at. You wrapped your arms around Reiner's neck, placing your head near his. "Good morning guys!"

His eyes fell upon you and pushed you off. A confused look appeared on your face as you sat next to him. "Well someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." You poked his shoulder before he stood up, and put his dish away.

"Did I do something wrong?" I asked everyone else at the table. They all quickly looked down, ignoring your eyes.

"Bertolt, you at least have to answer me! That is an order." You demanded, turning and pointing toward the brown haired man.

He gulped, sweat dripping from his forehead. "Oh, well, Reiner thinks you slept... with the commander."

Everyone at the table was shocked that Bertolt actually told you the truth.

"You weren't supposed to say anything." Annie said in Bertolt's ear.

"I'm sorry, it was an order." He said, looking down.

"Hmm, weird guy he is." You shrugged, leaving the table and heading for the barn. You found your horse and tacked it up. Than with the lead rope in hand, you brought it outside. A sigh escaped your mouth as you mounted the horse and took it for a bit of exercise. You went easy on him due to the upcoming travel.

"Three more days left. I got to cherish every single one." You said, continuing to ride.

After a while you put your horse back, untacking it, and brushing him off. You gave the brown horse some fresh water and oats before exiting the barn. You stumbled upon Reiner who was dealing with his horse.

"Oh hey, when did you get in here?" You asked, stepping next to him.

He ignored you and entered the horse's stall, filling its water bucket. The blonde man seemed to loose his interest in you in the matter of a day. A frown appeared on your face due to the fact. Even though you did enjoy Reiner's compliments and love for you, he was also a really good friend. Every single time you got injured or pushed around, he was there for you. He would help you to your feet and wipe the dirt off your cheek, just as you would do for him. Having this tension only brought you sadness, and it also wasn't good for the squad.

"Reiner Braun, loose the attitude and speak to me! That is a command." You said, pulling him towards you by his collar.

"What do you want." He groaned, trying to push your hand off.

Your grip was tight on him, and you pushed him up against the stall. Using your other hand, you swatted his away. "I've had enough of this little attitude you have been giving me all day. If it makes you happy, I didn't 'sleep' with the commander. I simply stayed in his room after feeling sick last night. There was nothing more to it than him tending to me!" You shouted at him.

He looked at you with a little bit of relief, his shoulders becoming less tense. "I'm sorry captain. I guess I had gotten the wrong idea." He mumbled as you released him.

"Yes you did, thank you for the apology." You said, wrapping your arms around his waist. You tucked your head into his chest, listening to his racing heart beat. "Hmm, someone a little nervous around me?" You taunted, meeting his eyes.

"What? No!" He said, his cheeks bright pink. He than lay his arms on your shoulders.

The two of you broke into laughter, finally cutting the tension. "I was scared you were going to hate me!" You said.

"Me hate you? Now how could I ever do that? You're my girl after all." Reiner smirked sheepishly.

You laughed it off, releasing you grip around him. "Why don't we head back? Everyone must be waiting for us in the hall!" You said, grabbing Reiner's arm.

"Captain, wait." He said, pulling you towards him. His hazel eyes met your e/c eyes that shined in dull light of the lantern. You looked at him, a little confused, thinking you had done something wrong.

"What is it?" You asked.

"Well as you know, better than me, that not everybody will come back from the expedition. I'm scared that I might not make it back." He frowned, continuing to hold the eye contact.

Horror filled your eyes as your mouth gaped open. "Reiner why would you say that? You will make it back. I will protect you if needed." You paused before continuing, "Plus, you still need to fulfil my want. You promised me that you would be the best in the survey corps."

Reiner nodded at you, pulling you in till your bodies touched. "I will keep that promise, do not doubt me. I just get scared you know? I don't know when will be the last time I see you." He intertwined his strong fingers with yours, bringing them near your chest.

Erwin noticed you weren't at dinner so he headed for the barn. He approached the barn doors, ready to ask you to come into the hall when he stopped. His feet stayed planted as he watched you and Reiner.

"That is why I am going to do this." Reiner said, grabbing your cheek, and kissing your soft lips. It was a passionate kiss that lasted for about 30 seconds. His hand stayed positioned on your waist during this moment.

The two of you eventually pulled away and just stared at each other. A giggle came from your mouth as you peered at him. You couldn't tell him that you didn't see him more than a friend due to the possible conflict that could occur in the upcoming expedition.
