3rd person pov:
Two days have passed since you shared that kiss with Reiner. It didn't cause any awkwardness between you two. If anything, you both just stayed even more normal.
Everyone had one more day till the expedition. Many cadets were crying, questioning if they wanted to go home or stay. On the other hand, you just enjoyed every moment with every body. You tried to make jokes and lighten the mood.
"N/n, the commander wants you in his office!" Hange called out to you.
Standing up from your seat, you walked towards her and down the hall. You took your time to get to Erwin's room as you haven't spoke to him privately since that morning.
Arriving at his office, you knocked on the door. He called out for you to come in and you entered.
"Sir, you called for me?" You asked, standing in front of his desk.
"Sit down please." He gestured toward the chair. You sat down, rubbing your finger against your eyelashes, brushing them upward.
"I need you to do your best on this expedition. There are going to be a lot of deaths I'm afraid, so I need you to protect as many people as you can." He said.
"Of course sir, that is what I'm here for." You replied confidently.
"Very well than. We will have a meeting later tonight, so please don't be slacking off in the barn. You can leave now." He said, keeping his eyes on his paper.
It than hit you that Erwin possibly could of seen you and Reiner that night. "Sir, I haven't been slacking off-"
He cut you off, "Out. We have finished this conversation."
"Whatever." You accidentally said. Placing your hand on your mouth, you quickly stood up.
"Excuse me?" He said, finally looking up.
Your heart began to race, realizing those words weren't actually just thoughts. You turned yourself towards him and rubbed the back of your neck, laughing nervously.
"You have no right to speak to me that way. Have some more respect." Erwin snapped at you, pointing at the door.
Basically shivering in your boots, you saluted him than ran out the door. As soon as you made it a safe distance away you fell to your knees, laughing hysterically.
"He was so angry oh my gosh!" You spoke to yourself, making you laugh even harder.
A laughing mess, you brought yourself back to your feet. You than headed towards your room, grabbing your jacket and heading for Reiner and Bertolt.
"Come on guys, just a little longer." You shouted at the two boys who were struggling to hold onto the tree branches. Bertolt had let go first, falling on his behind. Sweat dripped from his forehead and down his face.
"I'm sorry captain." He panted, trying to catch his breath.
"That's alright, I am just going to expect you to do more next time. Good work and congrats on the new record." You smiled, helping the young cadet to his feet.
"Reiner, you can come down now, time is up." You said as the blonde boy landed perfectly on his feet.
"Boom, Reiner for the win again." He smiled, flexing his now tired arm muscles.
The three of you laughed at each other, enjoying what could be your last moments together.
"So how do you guys feel about tomorrow? Excited or scared, which is it?" You asked, leaning against the tall tree.
"A mix." The two boys replied. They seemed to be excited to leave the walls, but scared they might loose someone dear, or even themselves.
"Well I wish the best upon you guys. I probably wont be able to see you guys until we set off. I have a meeting later tonight and than a ton of work I need to catch up on. Tomorrow morning we have one more meeting, than I need to prepare before all the lower ranks." You sighed, crossing your arms.
"Wow captain, you have your hands full! Is there anyway we could do to help?" Bertolt asked curiously.
"I can bring you back to your room. Oo! I can also give you a massage." Reiner said, wiggling his eyebrows towards you.
A smile appeared on your face. You bit your lip back, holding in the tears as they tried to escape. Grabbing the two boys, you pulled them into a hug, tears silently falling from your e/c eyes.
"I wish these moments could last forever you know. I don't want to loose you guys." You said, keeping your voice steady. The two boys agreed and held you close in their arms. Everyone felt comforted in this moment, not wanting to let go.
"N/n! The meeting is about to start, lets go!" Hange yelled from the top of the hill, waving her arms frantically.
You backed up from the two men, waving a goodbye before racing towards Hange.
"Sorry about that, I was just making sure my teammates wouldn't forget about me." You chuckled, clearing the tears from your face.
"Oh don't worry, you will come back. And so will I. I have to come back to experiment on more titans." She announced, holding a fist in the air.
The two of you laughed and headed for the meeting room. Hange had grown to be a good friend of yours, someone you also never wanted to loose.
Bertolt looked over at Reiner with a little bit of sorrow in his eyes. "I don't want us to hurt her." He mumbled.
"I feel the same way. I can't lose her, not after everything she has done for us." Reiner sighed.
"Reiner, you know we are using her right? It makes us look horrible in the end. Maybe we should just have someone else kill her so it won't be a betrayal." The brown haired boy suggested.
"No! I refuse to have her die! I don't care if she ruins the plans, or if she kills me. I, nor you, nor anyone will kill her. I won't allow it!" Reiner spat in the mans face. The two went silent, failing to look at one another.
"Good, everyone is here." Erwin said as the two of you entered the room. A few of the military police officers were here as well. They would be taking over some of the duties as the survey corps was gone.
"Thank you everyone for being so willing to put your lives on the line for humanity. We will be able to use Eren as defense if needed." He said firmly.
"For us bearing so much hatred towards titans, you seem to be taking the opposite view now, Erwin Smith." One of the military men said.
"I would like to think of Eren Yeager as a human even though he has those abilities." You replied to the officer, crossing your hands.
"Well of course, that is definitely something someone like you would think." He sneered, clearly having a problem with you.
"Excuse me, this is my meeting. Deal with your problems on your own time." Erwin said, continuing on with the meeting.
After what felt like years of talking, the meeting had finished. The military police left first, than the members of the Survey corps. You had stayed behind under the commander's orders, so you remained in your chair...
