Montero's POV
The disrespect.
That's the first thing I thought of when Felix told me about the invasion. The disrespect that these guys had. They came to my family home, attacked my people, my family, and they just did what they pleased just because they thought they could, and right after, they roam around my house like it's an italian museum, and still had the audacity to think they deserved to live, the disrespect.
I tapped my other earpiece to speak to Felix.
"Kill all those pieces of trash tins." I snarled. Yep, I don't swear anymore. Blame it on the sixteen years I have spent with Kalani. Our house is a swear free zone and if you swear you pay a fine.
$100.
And for our kids who have to work for their money, they don't swear because they know they will lose more than they gain.
"Sir." I could hear a hint of laughter in his voice. A sense of mockery for the non swearing policy of my home. But what I couldn't understand is why. After sixteen years of living a peaceful life without killing anyone of significant importance, why was someone was after me and my family?
Somehow I knew this had to with Maria. No one would dare come at me without trusting a person who would have higher authority or power to kill me, and there was only one person who had that power, and that person was my dad. So I knew that it was impossible for it to be someone I knew, except off course, Maria. She had some unfinished business she had to accomplish and I guess now would be that time to set her score and just be even, but seriously, why so many guys? And why do they look like they are from two different groups? So many things were confusing. And as I was poundering on this, Kalani suddenly spoke again.
"Babe, I can't breathe." My eyes widen. I knew how Kalani could get when she was faced with danger. It was never a pretty sight. Long story short, I needed her to calm down before everything went south.
"Honey, I need you to give the earpiece to Eawa ok?" I figured she nodded because there was no sound, just shuffling for a few seconds than a hello from my daughter.
"I need you to open our secret fridge and give your mom some water ok?" I informed without sparing anytime.
"Dad, I'm scared." She suddenly spoke out. I could hear that her voice was breaking, even when she was trying to act strong. "Send help fast. Mom isn't good at this breathing thing ok?"

Eawa's POV"I need you to listen to me ok?" He introduced me. I nodded, completely forgetting he wasn't seeing me.
"Firstly, I need you to give the water I had asked you to give your mother." I quickly went to the secret fridge which located at the far corner of the room. I took out the water and I ran back to her and gave it to her.
"Done!" I exclaimed.
"Now, do you remember your training?" He asked. His voice carried a hint of worry, but it was stern too.
"Yes sir." My mom looked at me and I shook my head. Whenever dad was training us, it wasn't daddy daughter relationship. It was trainer and trainee. And he never failed to go all out. And that's why I addressed him as sir. And it was a rule. As soon as you entered his gym, you addressed him as sir.
"Breathe first, don't let the enemy see your fear. Conceal it and just breathe." We chanted together. I closed my eyes and I remembered. All the training, the many times I failed, then picked myself up, and the many times my dad reminded me that being a girl was what made me strong, and for a second I was calm. I then looked at mom and remembered this was serious and I went back to daddy daughter mode.
"Daddy, please hurry." I whispered.
"Ok honey, don't worry. I'm on my way. Daddy is on his way." He disconnected.
I was terrified. I mean, I have conjured up senarios in my head at some point of how it would look and feel like if we got attacked and I let me tell you, it's nothing like this. This is some high quality, I'm freaked out typer of eish that was way beyond me. I could conjured up alot of senarios, but non of them included mom being pregnant, and dad fighting bad guys alone.
I mean, you would swear that this family was somehow connected to the mafia world with the amount of training we had to go through. And I remember when I asked dad why he trained us so much, his words somehow only make sense today.
Flashback
"Daddy, why do you train us so much?" I asked collapsing down, exhausted to the bone. I had used all my eighth year old power to train with all my might but some how, it was still not enough."I used to life a life that wasn't particularly pleasing to your mother." He turned away as if thinking of something or reminiscing about the past. He made a soft chuckle. "I did alot of bad things to alot of people. And one day they are going to want to hurt you and this family. And I can't let that happen. This family is my life and I need all of y'all safe. You understand?" I nodded.
"A storm is coming Eawa. And you have to be ready when it hits."
Flashback overI guess this was it. This is the big bad storm that dad was talking about.
When dad said he was on his way, I went back to mom and I started rubbing her back to try and calm her down.
The boys were all geared up, their guns all pointed at the door. I could see that there was a hint of nervousness in the way they were holding their guns, and in the posture of their bodies. It was two different things to shoot at a dummy and an actual human. And the boys got that. They understood that.
This was the first attack ever. Although our house, and the gym were sound proof, we could see people falling and being shot at, being stabbed, and it real. They were dead for real and they were not waking up, ever. And that thought alone terribled me. People were dying in our yard and my dad was doing half the killing.
"Eawa, give the earpiece to your mom." Dad instructed.
"Yes sir." I quickly handed the earpiece to mom and I hoped to the heavens that this would soon end.

Kalani's POV"Look at camera seven." Montero instructed me. I quickly scanned the monitor for camera seven and found it at the corner. And there he was. His clothes had so much blood but he still has his smile. The smile that I somehow fell in love with long ago. His hair was now a mess but it still looked fine. He sure still looked like a snack, even in this mess we were in.
He waved with his free hand. I slowly smiled, touching the monitor.
"I love you mi amore." He whispered. When he said that, somehow I felt safe as I've always did. I somehow calmed down like I always did and everything in the world just seem a little calmer.
Montero knew when to say the right things at the right time. And I loved him more for it. So much more.
"I love you too." I responded.

Humans.I don't particularly feel happy about this chapter. Ok it not short but I wish I could do more in it. But I have been away for too long and I thought I had to publish something. My English is so south these days. Please forgive me people.
And the reason I was gone for so long was that, I had to deal with some health issues and my mind which decided to shut down when it came to this chapter. I feel much better now though.I hope to come up with better chapters as time goes by. The love that I'm getting is far then what I had imagined. Like it's already 600 reads and that alone took a long time to get on my first book.
So my gratitude and thanks goes out. My love too. Thank you so much readers. I hope to update again this week. I hope I do.
But this author loves y'all ❤️❤️💞💞
Always have, always will 💕💕
