Kalani's POV
When we reached the airport, Placido and the twins were waiting for us in the car that they had travelled in. The moment we got out the car, the twins got out their car, and ran to us with their arms.
"Mommy." they both embraced me at the same time.
"My babies." I whisper, holding on to them.
"Let's go honey." Montero disturbs us, by placing his hand on my shoulder.
"Daddy." they go to him and give him hugs. Instead of picking them up as he normally does, he kneels before them, and hugs them.
"You good?" He places cute kisses on both their cheeks.
"Yes daddy." they reply in unison.
"Okay good, now we need to go okay?" He informs them, and they both nod.
We meet Placido waiting near the plane. The moment his siblings get there, he starts conversing with them. We enter the private plane, and everyone takes their seats except for Montero who remains standing.
Everyone was having their private conversation with the other person, so he addresses us, "Quiet down guys."
The plane gets quiet, and everyone looks at him.
"Well, honestly, I don't know why I am standing here right now," he chuckles "But I just want to thank each and everyone one of y'all for playing a part in getting Eawa back." He mutters Eawa's name as if he is trying to still wrap it around his head that his daughter is her.
Everyone just nods, but Enzo adds a comment.
"She's one of our own, it's something we ought to do." Montero nods and continues.
"With that being said, there is a few things I'd like to discuss before we reach Sicily." He states.
"Number one: Everyone must follow orders." At this, I look at Enzo and Charlie who both look away from me.
"Number two," Montero continues, "When we reach Sicily grounds, we will take separate cars, going in separate directions, but it will lead to the same place." When he said this, the boys started to disagree.
"No way." Charlie started.
"Well, I'm not going through that again." Placido mutters.
"Excuse me what?" Enzo questions.
I look at Eawa, and all I see is devastation and shock in her eyes. She starts shaking her head in disagreement, her eyes filling up with tears.
"You okay honey?" I ask her.
She looks at me, and her tears start falling.
"No..." She whispers. "I can't do it, I'm sorry." She unbuckles her seatbelt, and she runs to the bedroom at the back of the plane.
Montero looks at me, then follows her without question.
***
Montero's POVThe moment my daughter left, I followed her. When I got to the bedroom door, I stopped for a second, but then I knocked two times, then let myself in.
When I got in though, I found my daughter sitting on the floor crying her heart out. In that moment, I took it back. Yes, Eawa was strong, yes she was capable of healing, but looking at her now reminded me of her mom sixteen years ago.
She may come off as head strong, and independent, but she was actually fragile, and needed to handled with care. All in all, like her mother, she was too good for this world. And having to see her like this was too unbearable to watch.
I rush to my daughter, and when I get to her, I kneel down, and place my hand on her shoulder and ask, "You okay Wawa?"
She looks up and she throws her arms around my neck and whispers, "Daddy!"
"It's gonna be okay honey." I sssure her in a whisper, slowly patting her back, trying to calm her down.
"I...I can't dad, I can't." She tries to explain, but she chokes on her own tears, breaking my heart even more.
"It's okay baby. Daddy is here." I continue to whisper to her, hoping I was making her better in some way.
She pulls away from the hug, and suddenly says, "I don’t want to be separated from y'all. I want to travel with you, and mom and the twins and my boys. Please, please daddy." She begs.
"Honey I-,"
"I almost lost y'all guys today, I'm not strong enough to go through again." She pulls me into another hug.
"Please dad, please." Her voice is muffled, but I can still make out what she is saying.
"Us traveling together is not safe." I try to reason with her.
"I know." She replies. "But I'm not asking as a trainee, I'm asking as a daughter. Please..." her voice breaks.
Oh heck, I can't let my daughter cry like this.
"Okay, just this once." I agree, knowing fully well how bad of an idea this was.
"Thank you." And we just sat there, with her trying to calm down, and me trying my best to be a good dad.
After a while, her sobbing decreases, and I pick her up and place her on the bed. But the moment I pull my left hand away, she pulls it back, and the gun shot wound, shoots out daggers of pain. I immediately hiss, looking away.
"Sorry," She mutters, letting go of my hand, and placing hers on her chest.
"It's okay." I look back at her. "Just get some sleep, I'll wake you up when we arrive in Sicily." I tell her.
"Okay," I turn to leave. When I reach the door, and says, "I love you daddy, without question." I turn around and I smile at her.
And I say, "I love you too princess, without question." I leave, only to meet Johnathan on the other end of the door.
"That is dangerous." He starts.
"I see you heard, we will have to work around it. I'll inform the Don to clear a route for us. That should increase our chances of fighting back." I leave him standing there, going further away from Eawa's door, to prevent her from hearing the conversation in case things go south.
"Then what, you think we gonna make it? Dom, we have the Mexican mafia hunting us down if you don't remember, and although Maria is dead, those black stallions are still out there, we need to be extra careful." He follows behind continuing.
"Don't you think that's what I'm trying to do?" I stop and I turn to him. "Everyone is out to get my family at this point, and I get that. But my family have never had to be on the run and they are to traumatized to do it again. The boys killed for the first time, Eawa is a mess, my wife is almost 8 months pregnant, and the twins are-,"
"Goodness you bleeding." He interrupts me. When I look at my shirt, I see blood where my gunshot wound is.
"I'll have it cleaned up." I walk away, going to the others, but he stops me.
"And Alina, what do we do with her?" He asks.
"Take her to the warehouse when we reach Sicily, I'd like to have me some fun with her." I snarl, thinking of all the bad there is to make her suffer the way she did to my daughter.
