Kalani's' POV
Nothing fell on top of us, and I thanked the heavens with a mini prayer. I picked my daughter up, and I ran towards the car. Placido picked up a bazooka, and he fired it towards the last chopper.
The chopper burst and its debris fell from the sky. I covered my daughter with my head and the moment I reached the car, I entered it and placed Dakota on the back seat. I went out and grabbed Rumi by the hand, who was crouching near the car, with her eyes closed and her hands covering her ears.
The moment I yanked her hand, her eyes opened and she embraced me into her arms. I pulled her inside the car and she sat next to Dakota at the back.
"Get in!" I summoned the others in.
They didn't need to be told twice. They all entered the car one by one, Charlie being the last one in. They started to reload their weapons, not that we had anyone following us, but we had to make sure to get out of that place. The only survivors were me, my kids, Eva and Felix.
Felix took the wheel and he immediately drove forward.
"Please go back for my husband."
I murmured to Felix. "I don't know what they going through, but I know it's something bad. Call it a motherly instinct, but my daughter and husband are not safe, I need you to go back. Please." I beseeched him.He didn't even need to be told twice. He did a 360 degrees turn that left everyone going sideways. He was speeding, but that didn't stop me from asking if my kids were okay.
"You alright guys?" I looked around at each of them. They all nodded while continuing with what they were doing. However, Charlie just sat there all stoic. His hands were shaking, and his lips trembling.
"You good Li?" I changed seats with Enzo who was next to him to examine him further. When I was next to him, I gently took his hands into mine, and I gently rubbed them.
"Are you okay son?" I asked him again. This time he slowly took his time and he shifted his gaze towards me.
"I killed a man." He whispered. His eyes, I could tell, were distant. As remote from being where we were. "A man who probably had a wife and kids. I killed a man mom," this time he looked at me with tears in his eyes, and I could feel the fear starting to radiate off him. He squeezed my hands more tightly and he pulled me close.
"I killed a man mom, I killed a man." He repeated, pulling me into a hug, crying hysterically. I won't lie and say I wasn't crying. The hack, I also killed men. But this wasn't the time to think about it, but now was the time to focus on my family and finding Eawa.
"I know baby, I know." I stroked him on his back, trying to calm him down.
"Kota mommy," Rumi called out. "Kota is awake." She continued. I immediately let go of Charlie, careful not to have pushed him away and let Enzo try to calm him down. I rushed to my daughter, who kept calling for Montero.
"Daddy, I want daddy." She kept mumbling, her eyes still closed.
"We going to daddy. Just be patient okay? We going to daddy." I repeated slowly caressing her.
"My head hurts momma." She muttered, slowly rubbing it.
"It's okay honey, you okay," I assured her.
My family was okay. All of us. And when we get to Montero and get my baby girl, we will be complete. And anyone who still comes after us will die. And that is nothing but a promise.

Eawa's POVOur car halted, and I was awoken by a bang in my head, again. As I was slowly opening my eyes, the door of the boot opened, and as I was adjusting my eyes to the light, Alina yanked me out of the boot and pushed me to start walking.
"You run, I shoot." She pointed a gun at my head. She was carrying a 9 mm and I knew she could use it at any given moment.
My legs and arms were untied, but I've never felt so restrained in my life. Alina knew I was good in hand combat, and that's why she let me walk six feet away from her so she would have time to shoot if I ran. It was a good vantage point, I might add.
"Why are you doing this Alina? Our family, we have been nothing but good to you. My mom has done everything in her power to make you feel welcome," I tried to turn and look at her, and she shooed me to continue walking.
"Nothing but good? Haha. Don't make me laugh kid." She retorted.
"At least tell me why you doing this." At this point, I could feel tears threatening to fall. This whole time I hadn't cried and maybe it was because I thought it was all but a lie. But the more I walked with her, the more I realized Alina was gonna do something that would hurt me physically, and that scared me to death.
Daddy where are you??

Montero's POVWhen we got near the river, I immediately recognized Alina's car and a red unfamiliar mustang. Our car halted and we went out, all armed and ready for battle.
"Jackson with me, and the others spread out and cover ground. Shoot anything, that didn't arrive with us." I instructed them.
"Sir." The nodded. They spread out and I took my gun and I started following the tracks. The tracker kept flickering, indicating we were near her. I ran towards the sound, and I met up with Alina. Her back was not facing us, but forward.
"Stop!" Eawa turned around, and she smiled the moment she saw me.
"Daddy..." She whispered. Her tears falling down her cheeks all of a sudden.
"Daddy is here," I assured her.
"Give it up Alina. You lost. Let the girl go and we will let you live." Jacobson chimed in, his gun also pointing at her. She hadn't turned around, but I could tell she was smiling. She slowly raised her hands, throwing the gun on the ground.
"Did you think it was all that easy?" She slowly turned, tilting her head.
"I'd stop thereof if were you." The moment Eawa tried running to me, she stopped her.
"And what would stop her?" I asked.
"Me off course." An irritating voice, that once belonged to my fiancee sixteen years ago filled my ear, and I knew, things were about to get a whole lot messier.
A redhead came to view pointing a gun at my daughter and knowing her, she could pull the trigger at any given time moment.
"Maria." I snarled, gripping my gun a little tighter.
"Romano..." She smiled, but I could hear danger, vengeance, resentment, and scorn all laced in her voice.
"Did you miss me?"
