Montero's POV.
After clarifying a few things, the kids promised to go to sleep and process properly during the night and the final solution will be made in the morning. I was to call my dad, get the help that we needed, we'd then make the necessary arrangements for our next destination. Because I knew, today was the only night we would spend here.
There was no way I'd let my kids go through that again. Over my dead body.
As promised, the kids went to bed, I took Kalani to bed, and I went to the office to make a call.
Thee call.
After my dad disobeyed my order when I was Don, to leave Liam in his warehouse dead and not bury him so he would be discovered by the cops, he then basically mounted up to nothing in my life. If he could disobey a direct order from the Don, he was deserving of death itself. He should be happy that I left him to live and I didn't touch a strand of hair in his head. I mean, Liam protected Steffano when Steffano kidnapped Kalani because of that dumb retard, Jacobson.
That alone annoys me. Jacobson coming to my home thinking he can dictate my life, while he didn't even go for Kalani when it was his fault that she was kidnapped in the first place. But that is not important right now. What's important is finding a solution to the problem we currently facing.
When I got to the office, the first thing I did was pour some whiskey for myself before making the call. After downing it, I made the most treading call ever.
On his second ring, he answered.
"Tell me something good." I started, sitting down my chair.
"Is this how greet your father after two years of not even talking to him?" he asked.
"Yea well, you not someone I would particularly peg myself talking to at all." I stated matter of factly.
"What is that supposed to mean?" He enquired.
"Father, I was attacked. I wanna know by who and why. And Kana was here. I heard that the Delapo brothers were hit. I've heard its some boyband scout calling themselves Stallions. Eva briefly told me a thing or two about them, I feel their hit has something to with us being attacked today, but I don't know how." I went straight to the story. No need to beat around the bush.
"I see you are well informed. It's as if you never left the mafia." I scoffed.
"You were attacked by the Stallions." He continued, while taking a sip of some scotch, I assume.
"Them again." I muttered.
"Arhhh, I see you've met the likes of them." He chuckled.
"Yea they made a mess of things here. Quite the entrance might I add. They had heavy guns and I assume they weren't here to kidnap, but to wipe us off from the face of the earth." I explained. "And by the looks of it, it seemingly looked like it was two different groups." I stood up to pour myself more whiskey. And on my way there, my fingers on the hurt arm touched the corner of the table with more force than I wanted, and the pain that followed after went straight to my spine.
I hissed, uttering incoherent profanities. Gosh, I had actual forgot how it felt like to be shot. It hurt like a female dog.
"I see they did a number on you." I heard him chuckle again. He was enjoying my demise way to much for my liking.
"Yea, and if you don't want to see yourself in the same position I suggest you get to the point." I warned.
"The nerve you have to threat your own father is beyond me." I smirked.
"Oh please, calm yourself down. Its not like anything has changed now has it?" I put the ice on my glass.
"The audacity." I could tell by his voice that he was getting annoyed and believe me when I say, it was worth it.
"Id love to sit and chat father," Note to sarcasim, "But I really need you to start talking about something actual worth my time." I went back to my stoic self.
"You were attacked by the Stallions as you know, and the second group is the Mexican cartel." The minute he said that, I chocked on my whiskey.
I coughed a few times than regained myself.
"What do you mean Mexican Cartel?" He aroused my curiosity. "We in good terms with them though, what the hack happened?" I went back to my seat.
"Maria happened. He killed one of the Delapo's brothers and blamed it on us. And well now, the Delapo brothers are out for blood." He explained.
"Shit." I cursed. And our sweating machine starting going on.
"Mr Montero owes $100 dollars for swearing. Mr Montero owes $100 dollars for swearing," It kept repeating. I switched it off and father laughed.
"You've gotten soft Montero." He commented.
"Yea?" I smiled. "Wanna see how soft I've gotten father?" I gritted my teeth.
"Calm down, it was a joke. No need to get worked up about it." That was his way of apologizing. I smiled. I guess I still had it. Now back to the serious, Maria.
"Is there a connection between Maria and those boy scouts?" I asked.
"No. That boyband just wants to make a name for themselves and lucky for us we are the biggest mafia in the world they wanna mess with." I scoffed, rubbing my head in frustration.
"Lucky us indeed." I muttered. This is really annoying. Maria had suddenly come in the picture with the worst timing ever with Kalani pregnant, and these kids, these damn kids just tick me off. You what I hated most, people who came for my people and tried to hurt them. No one ever does that and think they can survive my wrath.
"So what's the plan now?" Father asked.
"We coming to Sicily tomorrow. We assemble the guys. Johnathan and Eva will come with. I need my family safe. And having them under the protection of our guys is my best of doing what I need to do in peace. I'll go after those dumb kids first," I spoke with authority. "Kill the whole lot of them and maybe torture some. I should be fun. Then I try to talk to the Delapo brothers. Try to reason with them. And if along the way I meet up with that Maria, I'll gutter her on site." I continued, snarling.
"Its good to have you back son." He smiled. "I'll prepare everything and I'll see you tomorrow." He continued.
"Si." I ended the call.
Next up was Johnathan. He answered on his first ring.
"What do you need?" He asked.
"You. Tomorrow we heading to Sicily. I'd like you and your wife to accompany us. And I feel that Kalani will feel a lot safer with her best friend close. Things might get bloody so I suggest you leave the kids with her parents. I know they are safe with them." I explained.
"Sure. I'll inform her right away." This is what I particularly loved about Johnathan. He knew when to be serious at just the right time.
"I'll brief you properly tomorrow. Be here around 7 O'clock." I continued.
"Sure, see you tomorrow." He hang up.
So the war has finally began. I wanna see how far Maria is willing to take this little charade that she has started because I can swear on her life, that this is the end of her.
Nobody hurts my family and think they can the can live to see the next day.

And the unruly author is back.
So before anything else, I'd like to propose that I update a minimum of two chapters a week. I hope that is per everyone's standards.
So the official war has began people. The Monteros vs The Monteros, The Delapo's and the Stallions. I wonder who has what it takes to survive mafia wars.
Anywho, without further ado, this author loves you.
