Enzo's POV
"Well, now they are out of our sight, Placido, you take the twins to the airport, me and Charlie will follow them." I instructed them. We were in the car, and it just started out the opposite direction that our parents took.
We had three cars escorting us, so did our parents. But on my command, they could go where we wanted too, well that was before the whole attack on our family, people are dying, sister gets kidnapped saga. Now, I'm not so sure. But I had to take my chances, it was the only way to keep my family safe.
"Jade, pull over." I asked our driver stop. Our car was the one in front, so it was easier for us to stop and turn, and the others could easily follow suit. He just obeyed and pulled over. The two cars at the back followed, pulling over.
"You going to take this car and the one behind us, and we will go with the one at the back to remove any suspicion." I continued instructing Placido.
"Didn't you hear what dad said?" Charlie asked.
"I heard what dad said, and now I'm saying, we are following them, yeah?" I cut him, trying to sound all confident.
"But, -"
"You heard dad," I interrupted him. "You can only come if you can pull the trigger in a heartbeat, and for this family, I am willing to try." I continued.
"You are going to get us killed, but I love the idea." Charlie smiled, he moved to my side.
"Okay, go." That's the only thing that Placido uttered, he didn't even try to fight with me.
"Aren't you not going to question my decision?" This was a bit puzzling. Placido was always speaking sense to us, and right now, a part of me was ready for his disapproval. In fact, him disapproving would give me confident to go, but right now I wasn't so sure. But I wasn't going to dwell on that right now.
"Nope." He moved Rumi next to him so we could move properly when we got out the car. "Just keep them safe." And when he said them, he meant the family, but mostly mom and Eawa. They were the ones who were most vulnerable. He gave me his gun. I immediately took it and placed it behind Charlie's gun hostler so not to freak out the twins.
"I will protect them with my life." I placed my hand on his shoulder. "For this family, yeah?"
"For this family." He uttered, smiling.
"For this family." Charlie chimed in, placing his hand on my shoulder.
"For this family." The twins both uttered at the same time, smiling.
And in that moment, I understood what dad meant when he said he could pull the trigger on that man. It was because of this family. This circle of individuals who were crazy as heck, but still, he was ready to protect us and kill for us in a heartbeat.
Even that crazy gem of a sister. All of them meant the world. And us being apart was never going to happen in my watch. Not if I could make it stop.
"Okay, lets go." I urged Charlie that it was time to leave.
"Be careful Zee." Dakota uttered.
"I will princessa." I smiled at her.
"And me?" Charlie asked, acting hurt. "You break my heart, Dee."
"You too brother." Rumi uttered, taking his hand.
"Thank you, Rum." He caressed her cheek. And yes, Charlie called our sister his favorite distilled spirit, though our parents don't know anything about that.
"Okay, lets do this." The guys from the other two cars came out when they saw us existing the car, ready to take instruction I assume, well more like, I hope. The came around us, and I cleared my throat.
"Okay guys, change of plans," I started in a loud voice, like my dad. "We are going after the Monteros. The first two cars are to accommodate, my brother Placido, and the twins. The remaining car will follow our parents." At this, everyone started to murmur, most of them disagreeing.
"I'm afraid we can't do that young master Montero." A voice spoke up. A young man came forward. He was maybe in his mid-twenties. He had curly brown hair, olive skin, a bright shade of light green eyes, and he was tall as heck. "We have direct orders from your dad to take y'all to the airport, and y'all are to wait for them there." He continued. I have never seen him before, nor was I familiar to him.
"And who might you be?" I asked.
"Your new driver sir." He responded.
"Surely this new driver has a name." I came closer to him. And I have to say, he was a bit intimating, but I wasn't about to show that off.
"Austin sir." His voice held a sarcasm to him that annoyed me.
"From?" I pressed
"I'm not at liability to say, Sir." He replied.
"Really?" I nodded, biting my lower lip. "Well, Austin the new driver, you are going to do as I say, or you might as well stay behind."
"I'm afraid we are going to have to disobey your order sir." He smiled, looking at others who nodded with him. I nodded, going to take Placido's gun, removed the safety pin, still nodding, annoyed. I pointed it on his face.
"You want to reconsider?" I asked. He looked back at me, still smiling.
"Sir, I suggest you only point a gun at me if you going to use it." He folded his arm. I chuckled.
"You right." I slowly lowered it until it was next to him. And without looking away, nor removing my gaze at him, I pulled the trigger, making him jump suddenly. I then pointed the gun back to his face. This time, he raised his hands. "What was it that you said about me pointing a gun at you and using it?" I asked.
"No...-, nothing." He stuttered.
"I thought as much." I lowered the gun and looked at the others behind him. "So, as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted by Austin the new driver," I looked back at him annoyed, "Does anyone have a question, or an obligation?" Everybody shook their heads ready to go.
"Good. Xavier, Zander, and Ryder, you guys are going with us, and the others to the remaining to the two cars. Zydus, you are you personally care for my brother and sisters, is that clear?" I instructed them.
"Yes Sir!" The all responded, including Austin the new driver.
"Good, now let's move out!" I walked towards the last car, Charlie following behind.
"Dude, how did you do that? You were so fearless." He asked, as soon as he reached me. Clearly excited about how I handled the situation.
"Dude, I was terrified." I showed him my hand, and it was shaking. "And I wasn't going to do it, but that Austin driver was pissing me off. There is just something off about him." I confessed to him as we entered the car.
"I feel it too. I hope Placido can take care of the girls." Charlie entered the car, waiting for the others to enter.
"Don't worry. You may act like the crazy one among, but Placido is the one that's actually crazy." I closed the door, after the guys entered.
"Meaning?" He leaned closer.
"Meaning, he could gutter a man and a minute later, eat medium rare steak like nothing happened." I whispered.
