A/N this whole story will be written in Akaashi's POV

Starting at a new school after the summer holidays seemed like a logical decision at the time when I had to choose whether to transfer or not. Being bullied for being gay was such a common thing in my old school it hadn't been long before I, myself, had been targeted by it. My only option was to leave and never look back, despite the fact Kuroo and Kenma, my two best friends, were still at Nekoma. They were a couple but were never open about it so they didn't get any of it, though even if they had come out being on the volleyball team would have given them a free pass.
Standing outside of Fukurodani was daunting- the hundreds of students passing by me were terrifying. I felt as if they were judging me but, in reality, they probably never even noticed me. I never stood out much but my paranoia got the best of me at times like this so the intrusive thoughts were bound to come, sooner rather than later.
I was supposed to go the the headmaster's office the second I had gotten here but I didn't know my way around the school so I hadn't the slightest idea of where it was. Asking someone was out of the question and I couldn't just wander around aimlessly till they came to find me.
After a lot of procrastination, I finally decided on asking someone. A nice looking girl walked passed me and smiled kindly which gave me a little hope she might point me in the right direction.
"Um, excuse me?" My voice wavered a bit and I hated it. I wasn't off to a great start but at least she turned around to look my way- she could have ignored my after all.
"Yes?" Her blonde friend had now also stopped behind her and eyed me rather rudely, but her face never changed its expression so it could just be her resting face and I wasn't one to speak- with my constantly bored face and all. Still, she could have been more discreet about it.
"Do you think you could point me to the headmaster's office?"
"Yeah... down that hallway to the left you'll see the sign." She pointed to the hallway behind me- it was the way I had just come from. I wasn't paying much attention but it was slightly embarrassing though she didn't seem to notice. Even though me and her might never speak again I still needed to make good impressions on everyone or else I'd hate myself for it.
"Thank you so much. I'm Akaashi, by the way"
"Yuki. It was nice meeting you. You're very pretty. I gotta get going now but don't hesitate to find me at lunch okay?" She was awfully nice. No one in my old school was half as nice as her.
"T- thank you" Damn. The stutter always came out when people unexpectedly complimented me. However, she just smiled and waved, dragging her friend as she walked away to her class.
The headmaster's office wasn't all that hard to find once I had been pointed in the right direction. I paced up and down the long hallway for a while contemplating going in. I could just run away and say I felt ill. It wouldn't have been a lie, per say. I had a terrible feeling in my stomach which made me feeling like throwing up. I was never usually shy but with all the bullying back at Nekoma, I started to become far more introverted than I had been before.
"Um... are you gonna keep pacing up and down or are you gonna let me through?" A dirty blonde boy had approached me from the right hallway. He didn't really scare me but I jumped nonetheless at his voice. It was soft, it didn't match his demeanour. He looked like someone who would have a rhaspy voice, not a sweet soft one.
"Sorry" he shook his head and held the door open for me, as if telling me to go in. I took it as a sign I had to do this, though it may not have been one. The office was bigger than what it looked to be from the outside. It had a large bookshelf covering one wall and a giant dark wood desk in the centre. It was very vintage and looked very European. How exotic. The lamps also had vintage shades on them which I had seen in an old European magazine once.
"Are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna let me come in with you?" I had almost forgotten about the boy who was still holding the rather heavy looking door. I stepped aside and he walked in, letting the door slam behind him in the process. At the loud sound, a older man stepped into the office from a back door I hadn't seen before.

A/n I was originally gonna make each chapter 3000+ words and have 12 chapters but then I realised how annoying it is to read really long chapters so imma have most of them under 1000 words and have around 30 maybe? Anyway hope you enjoy 🖤
