"So...something happened on the day we were coming back from our school trip."
"Honestly? What happened?!"
Dad asked like a little child."Dad! Don't be so excited! It makes me nervous!"
"What a weirdo!"
Dad laughed."Come on!"
I mumbled."Okay, okay!"
He said.Taking steps forward, without a clue about where we are going, I started,
"So on our way back...Ryan and I sat together as we promised each other."Dad looked at me slowly and smiled. I looked straight, blushing already probably.
"We talked about different topics, made jokes and significantly had so much fun! I don't remember being so..."
"So?"
Dad asked softly."So...myself. With him, I felt comfortable, and...kind of safe. I didn't have this fear or stress about saying or doing something stupid and then be scolded. He is an it's-cool-nevermind-don't-worry kinda person who always smiles. Who smiles while expressing sorrow, happiness, anger, compassion and forgiveness especially. You know what I mean?"
Dad nodded.
I chuckled gently,
"You know dad...the comfort makes me greedy sometimes. The more I stay with him, the more my heart says 'stay with him'. The more I want him...the more I want to want him. It gets kind of sophisticated."He stayed silent. I peeked at him and noticed him smiling.
"So...while talking, at one time I told him about my insomnia. Surprisingly, he pretended as if me having insomnia is nothing strange. I loved it."
Pausing for a moment, I said again,
"Daddy, it was a full moon. When we were riding on the long, empty road near the countryside, we noticed the moonlight entering the bus. And surprisingly, Mr Batman let us open the window! He had never done that before. When the charming light and refreshing breezes were coming inside, hitting us, Ryan grabbed my hand. With his eyes closed and that smile on his face, he held it gently."
"After a while, he sat upright. And told me that he wanted to sing a song."Dad looked at me now.
"You ARE my daughter. You're doing a great job telling this story."
He winked.I probably blushed harder.
"Then?"
"Then...he sang. With his paradisiacal voice, he sang. For me."
"Hold tight
You will sleep one night
Things will be alright
Just don't stop to fight
Stars will come tonight
Rest your bright eyesight
Hold tight
Hold me tonight""Dad...the next thing I remember is...waking up with the sun, with Ryan still holding my hand, with my head on his shoulder, and his head resting gently on mine. Dad, I slept. His song which he made on spot made me sleep. Sleep peacefully for 5 hours and not waking up... I didn't even take pills that night."
I stopped.
Dad didn't say anything too.
Shutting my eyes, I stepped forward. Walking with my eyes closed was something that made me realise, for the first time, that- I had been walking with my eyes closed for my entire life.
