Along the road, there's a railway line. A train is going in the same direction as we are but it'll eventually get ahead of us with its usual speed! Watching a train on an endless track reminds me of my life. It seems like I'm the train and my life is the track that seems endless until death and I alone am living it. And the passengers are the objects in my life.
Fresh air, raindrops, fascinating sights - everything is creating a mixed-up emotion. It's neither enjoyment nor sorrow. It's not even something that makes me wanna cry out of happiness. I can't explain what it is, but I am familiar with it.
"SNOWDON!!!"
Fiona shrieks.Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales. A dream location for the nature lovers and the hikers. On our way to Snowdonia, we get a chance to see a part of the mountain.
Ethan looks at where Fiona was pointing and says,
"Ooo, see! We got a little sneak peek to Snowdon!""SNOWDON HERE WE COME!"
Grace gets hyped!Ethan looks at her, even while he's driving, and says,
"Whoa! You're getting excited like a little child!"I smile hearing this.
I can see the grin on his face and the love in his eyes whenever he looks at Grace.
I had somebody like that, too!Unfortunately, I wasn't lucky enough to make him stay with me for the rest of our lives!
I can't say anything.
"This is good! This is so good!! Wake up! Wake up, Katherine Thomas!!! See where we are!!"
I hear this voice from somewhere in my memories.
A voice that I would give up everything to hear again in real life, from the very real person.
"Kathy..?"
I suddenly hear Grace calling me.I reply,
"Yeah?"She slowly asks from the front seat,
"Umm... Kathy? Did we make a mistake..?"I ask, even though I know what she is talking about,
"Mistake? Did we forget something to bring?""I didn't mean that... Are you okay, Kathy?"
Grace looks back at me.I reply,
"Why wouldn't I be okay?"
I chuckle at her.Ethan answers,
"You didn't say anything while the rest of us were hyped to see Snowdon. That's why..."I say,
"Oh about that! I'm a little moody you know! Writers often get moody and enjoy the situation quietly!"Grace laughs awkwardly,
"Yeah! Should have thought about that!"Ethan says, looking at me in the front mirror,
"But if you feel uncomfortable anytime, just tell us. We'll understand, okay?""Alright, brother!"
I smile. After a while, when we're almost about to reach our destination, I feel some little fingers tapping on my right shoulder. I look at my right. I see little Fiona.
"Kithie! Come closer!"
She says.I laugh and pull her closer to me.
She gets nearer to my ear and whispers,
"Have you forgot to bring your teddy with you?"I somehow control my laughter and say,
"No, dear! I haven't forgotten a thing to bring!"She looks at me in confusion and says,
"Then why are you sad?!"I look at her. I can't help myself from letting a sigh out.
If only I could think like her and forget everything.
"Wanna hear a secret?
I whisper to her.
