[Christmas Special Chapter]
*10 months before Christmas according to the date of the story*

"Kathy! Help me bring the cookies!"
Mom called from the kitchen.

"Meeeee?!"
I made a grumpy face.

"How many Kathies are in this house?!"
Mom laughed as she said.

Before I said anything, Ryan said,
"I'll come, Mrs.Thomas!"
He got up from the couch.

"Learn something, Kathy!"
Mom shirked.

"Learn!"
Ryan looked back at me and smiled, showing all of his teeth.

"In the process!"
I chuckled.

After a while, I saw Ryan holding two big bowls filled with cookies. From entered behind him.
Putting them on the table, he said,
"Would you mind if I eat all of these cookies, Mrs. Thomas?"

Mom smiled,
"No dear! I wouldn't mind! And you don't have to call me Mrs. Thomas! It sounds super formal!"

Ryan laughed.
"Okay, aunt!"

Mom patted his head,
"Good boy!"

"Wow..."
I said in my mind. I was surprised to see how he could be so friendly.

"You guys enjoy the cookies! And Ryan, you can obviously eat all of them!"
Said mom, looking at me.
"You don't deserve them! You didn't help me!"

"What the~"

They both laughed.

"Meanwhile, I'll go call Grace and your aunt!"
Leaving the room, mom started walking upstairs.

"Grace?"
Ryan asked as he took a cookie from the bowl. He kinda seemed surprised to me.

"My cousin, and her mom."
I explained.

"Oh! It'll be fun to hang out together! The three of us!"
He got excited like a little baby.

"Sure!"

I suddenly realised that I wanted to spend more time with him.
"Wow..."
I thought again.
"It's been a while since I wanted to hang out with a friend!"

"Kathy? What do you want for Christmas?"
Asked Ryan suddenly, out of nowhere.

"Christmas is months away!"
I shirked.

"Nevermind that, just tell me."
He said, waving his hands.

I spread my arms.
"A huge number of things!"
I laughed.
"How many do you wanna know of?"

"All of them!"
He giggled.

"It'll probably take a couple of months then! Are you patient?"

"Yes, ma'am! I am patient!"
I pretended to salute.

"But I'm not!"

Making a grumpy face, he said,
"Fine! Tell me the most important ones!"

"Okay, pay attention!"
I said, trying to hold my laughter.

He nodded,
"All ears."

"Number one, all books by Stephen King!"

He looked surprised.
"That's something Santa will struggle to carry!"
