Lindsey tried his best to remain calm. He breathed in deeply and exhaled slowly, he kept clenching and relaxing his fists. He didn't want to yell, he didn't want to have yet another argument with Stevie, but he was quickly running out patience.
"Do you mean to sound like shit?" Lindsey didn't necessarily intend to ask that out loud, but when Stevie stopped singing and stared at him, her eyes now twice their size, he realized the question didn't stay in his head.
"Excuse me?" Stevie immediately felt offended, she didn't want to listen to his excuses. "Do you mean to be such an asshole all the time?"
"Well, we've been on this for hours and we've barely got one good take!" Lindsey was past masking his frustration. "I thought, you weren't enjoying my company? Then why the hell can't you put in a little effort, so you can leave?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, dearest Lindsey, that I suddenly no longer meet your standards, that I just do not compare to your otherworldly musical talent." She was ready for a fight, they both knew it.
"I didn't say that to start anything, Stevie. I simply meant that you can do better." Lindsey shrugged, trying to cool the escalating situation down.
"Well, you could have you used those words, couldn't you?" Stevie raised an eyebrow, not expecting him to apologize.
"It's not my fault that you're impossible to talk to."
Stevie narrowed her eyes at him and he knew, he definitely shouldn't have said that. "Go to hell." She said and turned to leave.
"Where do you think you're going?" Lindsey rushed after her out of the room. "Stevie, stop this right now!"
"You can't tell me what to do!" She yelled back at him, walking down the stairs of Lindsey's mansion.
"Oh my God, you're such a child!" Lindsey's strides were bigger and he managed to catch up with her in no time.
"Let go of me!" Stevie jerked her arm away, when his fingers wrapped around it.
"Stop! We're not finished yet." Lindsey shook his head, arms folded as he shielded the front door.
"Is everything alright?" Cheri popped out of nowhere, having heard their raised voices.
"Stay out of this." Lindsey told his girlfriend without even giving her a glance.
"Go back upstairs."
Stevie's laugh sounded fake. "You're kidding? Move."
"No." Lindsey didn't, shaking his head. "We've got work to do."
"I am not going back up there with you." Stevie sounded serious, but he didn't take one step away from the door. "Besides, I sound so horrible, why do you even need me on this album? I'm sure you're doing wonderfully without me."
"I've seen so many of these outburst, Stevie, it's becoming funny."
That seemed to anger her more. "Lindsey, I will physically push you away if you don't let me out."
"And where are you going to go? Do you have a car, do you drive? Is someone waiting for you?" Lindsey questioned. "I don't think so. So, grow the fuck up and let's get this done."
Breathing heavily, Stevie maintained intense eye contact for a moment longer, before she turned and stomped up the stairs. Lindsey smirked behind her, following after her. Hearing the lock click, Stevie looked over at Lindsey, her eyebrows creased.
"Why the hell did you do that for?"
Without a word, he closed the gap between them. His sudden choice of action left her stunned and before she could do anything, she felt his mouth on hers, roughly prying her lips open. She loved it, when he got aggressive, it left her weak in the knees, which made it much easier for him to push her backwards and against the wall.
"What are you doing?" Stevie asked, when Lindsey began leaving open mouth kisses on her neck, she pushed her chest out. "Do you realize, where we are?"
"You need to calm down." Lindsey replied. "I'm calming you down."
Lindsey loved that Stevie wore skirts most of the time, easy access any time, anywhere. He captured her lips again, while one of his hands sneaked in under her skirt. She stilled at the feeling of his cold hand between her thighs. He teased her some, before pulling her panties down her legs. He didn't even need to ask for her to stand wider, she did so herself. Despite being mad at her, he still cared, so he made sure she was as excited as he thought she would be. They both moaned, when two of his fingers slipped inside her slickly. Pleasing her always brought pleasure to him as well. Knowing just how loud she could be, he kissed her again, working his fingers expertly. With his free hand, he unbuttoned her blouse and pulled down her bra just enough. Breaking their lips apart, he covered her mouth with his hand, then started kissing down her throat, until he reached her breasts, which made her buck slightly, when his tongue slithered around her nipple. He felt her lips parting and her movements stopped. He winced, feeling her bite into his hand, when he finally brought her over the edge. His jeans had gotten incredibly tight, however, they couldn't possibly have sex. Not right now, not in the bedroom, which he shared with his girlfriend.
"Now..." Lindsey pulled back as if nothing had happened. "Can we at last get back to work?"
