Lindsey felt like an asshole just thinking about being tired, but he was. All he had to eat the day before was two pieces of toast, the rest of his time was spent with Stevie by her bedside. When she herself fell asleep due to sheer exhaustion, he could have grabbed a snack, but he'd already overcome his hunger by the time. Instead he just downed a cup of coffee, hoping it might help keeping his eyes open and it did, but not for long. Once he was absolutely sure that their baby girl was okay and Stevie was resting, he drifted off as well. Yesterday had been extremely stressful to him and difficult not only physically. He kept his mouth shut, but he couldn't stop praying to God or whoever else was up there for his child to come into this world without any complications.

A soft voice roused him from his sleep. Opening his eyes, Lindsey realized it was Stevie, engaged in a one-sided conversation with their daughter. Their daughter. They had a daughter together. They were parents. He stretched out his limbs and a lazy smiled settled on his lips, watching the two most important people in his life.

Lindsey got up to his feet and walked the short distance to his little family. He pressed a kiss to Stevie's lips and then on baby Alice's soft, but scrunched up forehead. "Ah." He placed a hand over his heart, pretending to be hurt. "Haven't missed your daddy, huh?"

"You're blocking her view, Linds. We were having a moment." Stevie smirked, barely glancing at him, before her attention returned to Alice. "Did you get any sleep?" She asked.

"Which one of us are you asking?"

"The one, who can actually answer me." Stevie rolled her eyes at Lindsey, but he just pressed another kiss to the top of her head.

"Yeah, a bit. Couldn't get very comfortable." He shrugged. "And how do you feel?"

"I'm trying not to concentrate on how my body feels too much. I'm just happy right now, you know?" She looked to her left at Lindsey and he nodded, he absolutely knew. "I'm so relieved she's here. I can't pretend that I wasn't worried, with everything I'd put my body through over the years."

Lindsey picked up on a note of sadness in her voice. "Right, but you've changed, Steph. For yourself, for her, for us."

Stevie smiled, brushing the back of her finger over Alice's cheek. "I think, I might want another one."

"Well, that's not what you were saying yesterday." Lindsey chuckled lightly, running his hand over the girl's baby hair, wondering if she was going to have curls. "You said-"

"I know, what I said, Lindsey. We have a tiny little human in our presence, watch your mouth." The lightness of her tone let him know that she wasn't being serious.

"You know me, baby, I'm always ready." He shrugged and received a glare, knowing that she was definitely not being serious about another baby right away.

"It's a shame you're gonna have to handle yourself for a while." Stevie gave him an innocent looking smile and Lindsey sighed.

"Yeah, I doubt we will even get a chance at Mommy and Daddy time soon." He twisted his body, so his arm wrapped around Stevie's shoulders as he watched his girls from above.

They settled into a comfortable silence, completely taken by their daughter making faces. Lindsey's fingers mindlessly brushed over Stevie's arm up and down, while she held their daughter in her loving arms. He wasn't sure what took over him, he didn't know if he should even open his mouth, he had no way of what Stevie's reacting was going to be, but...

"Marry me."

Stevie stilled at the sound of his voice and she tilted her head up to look at him. "Come again?"

"Marry me." Lindsey allowed himself to smile, although, he was a nervous wreck on the inside. He said it, it came out and there was no way of taking it back. He opened his mouth to justify his proposal, to present her with arguments, why this was the right thing to do, but he didn't have to.

"Okay." Stevie replied, seeing the surprise on his face. "You can't take that back now, Linds."

"I-I'm not going to. Steph, are you serious?" He moved so they were face to face. "You're not going to change your mind once you come down from this new baby high?"

She laughed lightly, shaking her head. "I love you, Lindsey. I don't need you or myself to come up with another reason."

Still quite shocked, it took Lindsey a minute to relax, realizing that this moment was real. Grinning widely, Lindsey leaned to whisper to Alice. "You hear that, baby? Mommy and Daddy are getting married."
