With Peter, 3rd person
Peter woke up to the sun blaring through the window he slept by. the sun's daggers of light ripped through the cracks of the dusty old blinds that peter assumed had been there since the building had been built. Peter winced at the onslaught of light and shielded his eyes from the sun, which was being obnoxiously bright today- ...wait a minute, the sun?
Peter's eyes snapped open, blinking profusely in order to adjust to the light quicker, he looked around quickly, there were no other boys to be found. Peter silently cursed, he had slept in! It was early fall, the sun could never reach his windows until 7 at least, and that when school started! Peter scrambled up and got ready as fast as was mutantly possible, throwing on a science pun tee, as usual, and shoving a hoody several sizes too large for him in his backpack- just in case.
The sun rose still higher as Peter wondered why none of the other kids had bothered to wake him up, but it hurt to think about so Peter decided not to dwell on it for too long. Besides, he had things he needed to be worrying about right now. as Peter ran down the stairs still tieing his sneakers, he noticed something- he couldn't hear anyone else here.
Peter froze. He listened again, dead silence. All of the kids that lived here, at the orphanage, were old enough to go to school. So the orphanage director had no reason to be here if she thought we were all at school.
As Peter considered these things the thought that she probably wasn't even awake at, seven-thirty(?) in the morning struck him, but as he listened he knew couldn't hear any heartbeats or snoring at all- which he knew for a fact the Lady did. She wasn't home. Realizing that he was wasting time he made a split-second decision before darting into the kitchen and opened the fridge.
And there, sitting in that glorious white metal box, like heaven on a platter, was a box of turkey on the bottom shelf. Almost brand new too, from the smell of it. Which surprised Peter greatly, but he wasn't arguing. He looked around and on the counter, he spied the bag of bread from last week, the only pieces left were the edge ones that had now gone stale from the children's refusal of eating them. Peter grinned.

"Wait! Wait, *huff*, please!" Peter yelled as he watched the last person get onto the subway train what felt like eons ahead of him. As peter reached the waiting area Peter hung his head, panting, watching the train leaving only seconds before he got there. Today just wasn't his day. Thanks a lot, Parker Luck.
Peter stood there catching his breath, sandwich in hand, hunched over for a good few long moments. As he stood up, his heart wasn't beating fast due to the exercise, but now because of the overwhelming anxiety that was rising up into his chest and fast approaching his throat.
He was going to be so, so, so late! He was screwed! The school was going to call the mistress and he was going to be beaten within an inch of his life! Peter hung his head miserably as he walked over to the nearest bench, he would have to wait for the next train.
Peter stared at the musky cement ground, trying his best to avoid thinking about his impending doom. Luckily for him, he actually had something to distract himself from said impending doom! For once.
Peter looked down at the sandwich in his hand and smiled, he liked sandwiches. He missed the ones he would get at Delmars, it was too bad he never got them anymore, he never had the money. He had to use what he'd saved up from his old job- a pizza delivery person, he got fired- to pay for the subway.
As he took a bite of the stale and crunchy sandwich in hand he thought about his upcoming test in AP Chem, reciting formulas in the back of his head as he waited for the train to hurry up and get here. As he waited the already some-what full waiting area seemed to slowly swell up with people. Usually, Peter could make it before the morning rush hours started, the crowds had always made him nervous.
