Chapter 27: Keeping A Close Eye

(A/N): Sorry for such a shitty chapter, like I say I'm no good at writing things but things are gonna get better are we're getting into the whole whisperer battle soon :)

It had been a few hours on the road, you'd have little rests every now and then but wanted to continue because Daryl said that you all would arrive hopefully just before it gets dark.

You and Negan mainly stayed nearer the end of the group, that way people would feel a lot better and not have to worry about Negan if he were to ever "attack" or "kill" someone. You had also noticed that Ed guy who was trying to piss you off yesterday stayed close to you and Negan, mainly Negan as he kept a close eye on him. It irritated you but really there was nothing you could do, only talk to him.

"Hey uh Ed was it?" Negan spoke out.

"I can't help but notice buddy but uh, your looking at me. Do you have to hots for me man? If so I'm afraid I'm a married man." The same old smirk appeared across Negan's face as he held up his hand and pointed to his wedding ring.

"Really, don't start with him." You were a little annoyed with Negan.

"Maybe I am looking at you. Making sure you don't go around murdering anyone." Ed responded.

"For fucks sake. See look what you did." You huffed.

"Ha! Do you think I can kill anyone? I don't even have a fucking weapon." Negan added on.

"You could sneak one from your wife. She's got her knives and that gun. Or even worse you could grab your old weapon and bash someone's head in." Ed added.

"Oh my god. Shut up the both of you before I end up killing either one of you." You snapped as they both stopped talking.

"Great, thank you. Now Ed kindly fuck off and don't disturb us anymore. I don't need any more of your bullshit." You muttered as you gave him a sarcastic smile. Ed looked at you and stared as he slowly backed away from you and Negan.

"Just don't even bother talking to him. You know better than that for gods sake." You huffed.

"You know I can't help it hon. It's just something I have to do." Negan smirked as he pulled you in for a side hug and kissed you on the forehead.

"Yeah well, just know when to read the room." You smiled and hugged him back.

A few hours had passed, you kept the track of time as every now and then you'd check your dads watch to see how long you've been walking for.

There wasn't a lot of breaks either as people just wanted to focus on getting there, and wanting to stop as you'd be waisting daylight.

Your radio started to hiss as Rosita's voice came through. "(Y/N), we're gonna have to make a stop. The kids are getting quite grouchy being stuck in the kart for a while. I think we should have a break for a bit, get everyone fed then we'll get up and running again."

"Yeah I can imagine there getting a little grumpy. And definitely we'll stop and have a break for a bit, let the kids stretch their feet and eat and I'll check up on Carla too." You radioed back.

"Great, I'll let Daryl and the rest know."

"What's going on?" Ed asked.

"We're gonna have a little break, the kids are getting agitated being stuck in the kart for a while." You answered back. He just nodded his head as slowly but surely everyone came to a halt.

"I'm gonna go check up on Carla, Judith and R.J. You coming?" You asked Negan.

"What sort of question is that?" Negan scoffed as he followed behind you as you both made your way over to the kids kart. As the kids slowly got out of the kart you saw Judith and R.J make their way to the front and jump out form the kart.
