Blue Diamond

Episode 4

The monk was too old to fully heal this sick diamond and he knew keeping the diamond was a very difficult task, for many greedy people wanted the diamond for themselves. The monk decided to make a dreadful promise to Caleb that he would protect it till his last breath. The monk thought to himself why? Why did such a beautiful sign of hope turned so dark?.

It brought destruction upon a peaceful nation and the magicians who once protected the diamond were killed. The diamond was only supposed to be used as a token of hope but others only saw the darkness within. Caleb breathlessly spoke his last words as he put his faith and trust in this stranger, but he felt it within himself that the monk could be trusted. For every good deed there's a reward. Caleb's voice be began to break down, as he tried to explain what was coming. For some reason Caleb believed someone would be able to control its power.

"Someone with a pure heart, he will be the only one who can save what's left."

Caleb continued to speak as his voice trembled and his hands becomes weak. The old monk held on to this dying magician and as he said

"Only a magician will be able to contain its natural powers and restore balance and peace to what was once lost...this I promise you!".

A man who's capable of handling it's miraculous power of illusion and immortality. A man of truth and a genuine pure soul, will be the only person who can control this beautiful rock. Before closing his eyes, Caleb whispered a magician's curse upon the diamond. For he wanted revenge upon Ronaile and he had not forgotten what Ronaile took away from him.

Caleb handed the diamond to the old man, the slightest touch of the diamond released a curse upon the greed of other magicians and the entire Jade temple was engulfed with blue flames. The magnificent flames spread light but didn't burn.

The floor of temple cracked and became a thick metal shield. The diamond began to take its place in the temple, as it ripped itself into five black, rectangular shaped, metallic playing cards; the cards reflected a blue light that runs through the cards like blood and it created a magical writing of numbers and shapes. The symbols projected one of peace and hope. This turn of events was Caleb's dreadful curse. The writing on the cards appeared to be ancient and powerful, that protected the cards from harm.

It kept the diamond from revealing its natural and true form. Despite the metallic appearance, the cards were light as a feather. In a blink of an eye, Caleb faded into a blue magical pixie dust that was sealed within the diamond. For his promise wasn't kept; the dust was taken away by the wind into the diamond cards. The metallic playing cards seemed fascinating but with the slightest touch it released and sharp edge that cuts through the best of metal, wood or even the very flesh of a human body.

The old monk knew that Caleb trusted him. After witnessing Caleb's death, he decided to take the five cards and placed them into the temple but as he was about to do so, four of the metallic cards disappeared. The monk was scared, for he had no acknowledgment of this strange sorcery. In order to keep his promise, he didn't have another choice. The old monk decided to close his temple as he gave the remaining card sanctuary within the jade dragons of the temple. He was afraid to touch it because of its sharp edges.

He was a bit confused but he realised how important it was to protect the metallic card. The monk placed the card carefully into a box and he noticed the card had a diamond shape engraved on it with the number five written on it. He didn't know what it meant but he went on and placed the card inside the temple. He didn't have any other option but to keep the magical card inside the locked temple. He left the forest and never spoke of the diamond, the card or the fact that he witnessed Caleb's death. The card had been lost beyond time. For a new generation of magicians was about to be born.
