EPISODE 21

The silence filled the atmosphere of the ride. Arthur felt restless, while Kate reads a magazine, Damon had ear phones in his ears as he listens to music, meanwhile Jake kept checking  the maps and as his sister Kiara enjoyed the view. The roads curved and as Arthur drove, he noticed a sign, it said

“Welcome to Millstone valley.”

Arthur felt like he had been here before, but wasn’t quite sure.  Arthur knew Damon and Jake weren’t on the same page and he knew Damon felt left out. He decided to bring them together. Along the road, there was a small bar, which they stopped at. It felt great to just stretched their legs after hours of driving. Arthur needed a break as well. They all decided to enter the bar and found it empty. This was the perfect opportunity to bond, as Arthur thought to himself.

It had brought up alot of different thoughts for the guys and they apologized to each other as they enjoyed a few beers and shared fun memories. All had seem well, they all put their differences aside and made an oath. They all promised Arthur that they’ll help him finish his journey. As for the girls however, all seemed ok, but Kate however, felt as though Arthur was  paying to much attention to the guys than her. In her mind, she kept thinking about Arthur’s behavior every time Kiara was around him.

She didn’t think anyone else had noticed but she realized ever since they left the Rivera’s estate, Arthur was always to close to Kiara. Even though she didn't say much about it. Kate wasn't ready to accept it. She felt as though something was going on between them. Kate wanted to know why Arthur was avoiding her so she waited for the perfect opportunity to ask. It’s been almost an hour and Jake realized it was getting dark and they needed a place to rest. The bartender suggested a small inn higher up the road.

It was dark and Arthur could barely see the road. Jake had noticed that Arthur took a wrong turn. Both Jake and Arthur pulled over and decided to re-check the maps.

While trying to figure which way to go Kate stole a moment to talk to Arthur.

“Arthur can I have a word with you?”

 Arthur was tired but he wanted to hear what she had to say. He turned to her while Jake and Damon work together. He looked at her and place both of his hands on her shoulder and hugged her as he asked her

“Hey. Everything okay? You look a bit worried.”

Kate looked into Arthur’s eyes and was confused, she was unsure of how Arthur felt but her determination made her question him she went on to say

“I’m fine. It’s just you seem so distant and distracted lately.”

Arthur some how felt curious as to what she said, he decided to question her.

“What do mean distant? I’m here aren’t I?”

Just then, Kiara got out the car and walked towards her brother when she accidentally tripped and fell. Arthur noticed she fell and decided to help her up.

“Kiara!. Are you alright?”

Kiara was a bit embarrassed as she fell but she meant no harm. Arthur stretched his hand out and helped her off the  asphalt unfortunately Kate’s jealousy got the best of her when she said

“Is that normal with you? To randomly just fall.”

Arthur looked at Kate as she was being mean. Kiara somehow felt terrible as she meant nothing. Arthur on the other hand,  walked up to Kate asking her why was she so mean? yet Kate felt as though Arthur was defending Kiara. Kate got angry as she said

“This is what I meant by distant. You always have time for everyone but me!”

Arthur felt as though Kate was acting innocent for she didn’t know that her words had affected him diversely. He felt as though Kate was accusing him of cheating.

 “you think I’m cheating? Seriously Kate!?”

Kate knew Arthur got upset and the way he spoke caught the other’s attention. Damon was a bit concerned since Arthur raised his voice at his sister. Damon then asked

“Hey. You guys okay?”

Arthur seemed annoyed and irritated as he sat in the car he slammed the door. It was evident that he was angry. Damon was confused since Arthur nor Kate said anything. Kiara felt like it was her fault, since she was the one who fell. Jake noticed Kiara was bothered but he felt as though it wasn’t the right time to ask. The journey continued, but the silence and tension filled their minds. Arthur thought to himself that he did nothing wrong, so why was Kate so upset.
