Shots rang out behind Y/N as she ran. She turned down the hallway and headed straight to the elevator. Y/N skidded to a stop in front of the panel and smashed the button for the first floor.

She could hear footsteps get closer as Kazue barked orders to his men. She mashed the button even faster until she realized the elevator wasn't going to make it in time. So, she took the stairs instead.

She sprinted down the stairs as fear propelled her forward. With the help of the railing, she swung herself around corners and skipped steps. Two steps if possible. She skipped three when she heard the door open from the 20th floor.

Once she reached the 16th floor she saw another bodyguard come up from the flight below her. She thought she was safe until he raised his gun at her. In an instant, she became bulletproof as the man fired at her.

Y/N grabbed the guard's wrist and ripped the gun out of his hand and twisted his arm. He made a loud cry before she slammed his head into the metal railing and silenced him.

Y/N cursed herself in her mind. She didn't have time for this. If it wasn't for Kazue's quirk she wouldn't have to run. Hell, she would've killed him a long time ago.

She ducked as she heard one of Kazue's deadly bullets whizz by her. More footsteps echoed from the lower levels as Kazue got closer. She pushed open the metal door leading to the 16th floor.

Y/N ran down the corridor and whipped around the left corner before she crashed into someone. She backed up a little once she saw who it was.

"Well isn't this nice," The man had a crazed look to his eyes as blue flames arched around him.

He had terrible timing. Although she knew he hated her. She didn't want him to get caught between the crossfire.

"You have to move!" Y/N hissed.

"What?" He said.

"There is a bigger problem than you and it just happens to be around the corner!"

Her eyes were pleading and panic-stricken. She was acting very different than what he saw in the interrogation room.

Shit. She's not joking, The man thought.

"Oh, Y/N!" Kazue crowed.

In the split-second, Kazue came around the corner. Y/N pushed the man out of harm's way. Another gunshot went off behind them as they hit the ground.

"Go!" She yelled.

The man and Y/N scrambled to their feet. She quickly took the lead and guided them to the next stairway leading down.

The two came to a complete stop on the stairway as they saw men coming up from the 14th floor. Y/N pushed the man through the door first as she took the brunt of their bullets with her back.

A group of bodyguards swarmed the floor they were on. She was running out of time and options. Now she had no choice but to fight. Y/N charged in and took on the group of men. She kept fighting until all of them were unconscious.

The man watched as Y/N fought. He was going to use his quirk to get rid of them but she clearly had it handled.

More men poured onto the floor from all directions. Kazue was not far behind them. They took the only way that leads to cover even if it was a dead end. Y/N took cover behind a wall and so did he.

It looked like there was no way out for both of them. They were in an empty and vast room filled with highrise windows with no other doors. There was no place to run or hide. But the man was fine with that, he was done running anyway.

"There you are!" Kazue aimed the gun down the hallway.

"And so is this." The man sent down a roaring torrent of blue flame at Kazue.

Kazue managed to get to cover while a few of his men weren't so lucky.

A wall of fire separated them from their enemy. The flames that latched on walls were slowly spreading and created a cloud of smoke that choked the guards. Y/N and her partner were fine. He was used to the smoke while she gained immunity to it. She thanked him for his move. But they were still stuck at the dead end.

They were cut off from the elevator and the stairway. They were trapped. Y/N knew once the flames died down Kazue would have another clear shot on them again. She was about to lose hope until she saw the high-rise window behind her.

It was the only high-rise window that was able to fit both of them.

She saw the window of opportunity. Literally.

The idea brought a fearless smile to her face. She looked next to her and firmly grabbed the man's shoulder. His indifferent face was now replaced with a concerned look.

"Ready for your first flying lesson?" She asked.

Before he could answer, Y/N grabbed his hand and pulled him with her as she ran towards the window. The man tried to stop but it was too late.

With all her momentum she went feet first through the window. Shattered glass surrounded them as they made their descent. In a second, white-feathered wings sprung from Y/N's back as she fell. She pulled him close to her before she spread her wings and took flight.

They rose high above the buildings and into the clear sky before Y/N spoke, "Not bad, huh?"

The man growled as a response to her small talk. Y/N merely shrugged as she soared even higher into the sky.
