It took a moment for Dabi to get up. When he did he felt nauseous as the world spun around him. But just like everything else, he hid it under a cold demeanor. Dabi looked around for Y/N. Dabi lit a flame in his hand. Smoke billowed between the stitches in his hand. It was excruciating to keep the fire going but hadn't even noticed the pain since he found Y/N.

Dabi's heart sank lower as Y/N laid there. He would've thought she sleeping if wasn't for the blood from the cuts on her face. It would be pointless to see if she was conscious so he checked if she was alive. His fingers trembled but he could still feel the steady pulse from her neck.

Dabi let a faint sigh of relief. When he lifted her a sharp gasp escaped from her. Dabi stopped immediately. Not only because she seemed in pain but she was still conscious after the fall.

"You alright," Dabi asked.

"Fuck no." Y/N s hoarse voice cracked with an irritable tone.

Dabi seemed taken aback by her Sheer honesty. Y/N rolled her eyes as she tried to sit up. The whole side of her rib cage was on fire. The more she moved she felt like she was suffocating. Y/N gave up and laid back down. She sucked in a couple of breaths before she spoke,

"I think I broke a rib."

He had serious look on his face. He wanted to see if she still walk alone with the injury. Dabi lifted her shirt just enough to see her ribs. Dabi's heart stopped when he looked. The whole left side of her torso was covered in fresh red bruises. Each breath she took a fragmented bone shifted further from its original place.

The more Dabi stared the more he felt nauseous. It was impossible to hide his horrified look from her. Y/N read his face and knew her injury was very bad. For the first time ever, she truly began to question if she was going to make it out of this alive.

Dabi pulled her shirt down. It took him a moment to finally return to the stone-cold face he always wore.

"We need to go." He finally managed to say.

"Five more minutes, mom." She deadpanned.

Dabi's eyes narrowed at her, "Did you seriously make a joke at this time."

Get used to it." She quipped.

Dabi helped her up and threw her arm over his shoulder as headed towards the stairs.

She knew he was worried about her. With her injury, she shouldn't be moving at all. But staying still only meant death. She wanted to ease his mind any way she could. Even if it was a badly timed joke.

Dabi and Y/N went down the stairs. Each step they took, the supports creaked underneath them. But Y/N could barely hear over her own labored breaths. It was a struggle to breathe. It was also impossible for her to focus as her head swam. She doubled over when her vision got blurry.

Dabi guided her to the wall and sat her down. YN gulped in the air as she tried to block out the pain. She could barely see or stand without losing her breath. The mafia could be there any minute. She accepted the fact was she was slowing them down. there was nothing else she could do.

"You okay?"

Dabi's question interrupted her thoughts. Even though her decision didn't require much thinking. There was only one option if he wanted to make it alive.

Y/N's pained face answered his question. She rested the back of her head against the wall.

"What were you going to say in Tokyo?" Y/N asked.

Dabi's head cocked to the side before his eyes narrowed. "I told you I will tell you when we're in Tokyo."

"I'm not gonna make it to Tokyo. If you haven't noticed."

Dabi gawked at her. He never thought she would actually suggest that.

"So you want me to leave you here." He said scornfully.

Y/N's solemn, pleading eyes had spoken for her. She didn't want to make this harder than it already was.

Dabi couldn't help but scoff. He couldn't believe that Y/N was crazy enough to suggest that to him and dumb enough to think he would agree.

"I'm slowing us down. You have a better chance if you didn't have to carry me." She countered.

'I just want a little closure."Her voice was just above a whisper. She felt so weak talking to him.

"So, please stop bullshitting me with the cliche." She finished

Dabi bit his own tongue to stop himself from speaking. He wanted to tell her so bad. But only when the time was right. Admitting it now would grant her death wish to come true. That was not the ending he was going to let happen

"You know that's ironic coming from you, right." He retorted.

"Sorry, not sorry. If I'm not giving up then neither are you, princess." Dabi scooped her up in his arms.

She gave him a light-hearted scoff. She knew he wouldn't listen. If only they were in a better place. She would've enjoyed it a little more.

Dabi carried her down the rest of the stairs before he heard a loud crack from underneath. Dabi rushed towards the nearest exit Y/n held onto him tighter as he ran. The stairs swayed. Dabi jumped before the ground fell from under him. He freed his arm to grab onto the ledge.

Y/N grabbed onto his arm as he caught the ledge. But it had done nothing as she slipped.Y/N held onto his hand as she dangled over the dark void. She grabbed onto him with her other hand she was far too weak.to hold herself up. Dabi grimaced in pain both of his hands were slipping. He couldn't afford to let either one of them go.Y/N He held onto her hands tight but he could still feel her slipping

Y/N had realized the inevitability of what was happening. She closed her eyes once her hands left his. Dabi watched in horror as she fell into darkness.
