"Fuck!" Y/N slammed her fist against the screen of the ATM.

She read that number right. With the bank account usually sitting at 330 million yen, it was drained to zero. Kazue was definitely behind it.

Y/N made sure she didn't damage the machine but it still caused pedestrians to look at her.

"Well, that was pointless," Dabi said as he stood beside her.

An exasperated sigh left her as she exited the screen. Y/N walked away in defeat with Dabi in tow.

"I should've seen it coming. The moment he dies all of the money would go to his brother from our joint account." Y/N said.

The money's disappearance definitely put a damper on her night and threw a wrench in her plan. As she thought about another way to get out of the prefecture, her stomach rumbled. She hadn't eaten anything since she arrived at Dabi's apartment.

"Man, I could use some really good food right now," she muttered.

"Is that all you're worried about?" He asked cynically.

"Being on the run takes a lot of energy." Y/N quipped.

"Besides, we could've used it as fare money. Traveling would've been a lot easier." She finished.

"Then we're stuck walking, huh?" Dabi looked at her for confirmation.

"I'm afraid so," Y/N admitted.

She looked down at the ground. Their chances were getting lower by the day and she had no way to increase them.

They were both silent as they walked on the sidewalk. With Y/N distracted, her feet were on autopilot as they traveled through the city night. Dabi would've been the same way she was, but he noticed something off.

He took a quick look behind him and saw a group of men. With their nicely tailored suits in a slum-like city; They definitely stood out from the rest of the crowd. But after the men followed them on their second turn on the sidewalk, Dabi knew it was the mafia.

Dabi cursed in his mind. He didn't think the mafia would find them so quickly. But now that he knew who they were, he needed a way to alert Y/N without their stalkers knowing. Without caution, Dabi does what no one would've done.

Dabi's hand glided across the small of her back, hooked onto her waist, and pulled her close. He leaned in to whisper into her ear but with his gruff voice, it came off as a growl instead. The whispers in her ear were low rumbles of words that sent electricity up and down her body.

She was lost in her thoughts when the brush of his lips against her skin jolted her from her trance. All of her nerves were sending mixed messages. Even her perception of time seemed slow. The hallucination was slow enough to translate the meaning of his words.

"We're being followed," Dabi said.

The words were alarming enough to ground herself after her sensory overload. She had no idea what she felt there. To her, it almost felt like adrenaline. But there was no pressure or rush. It was just bliss.

She closed her eyes then snapped them open to focus. Y/N would have to figure that out later. Right now she had to think with the head on her shoulders.

The two were coming up to an alley. For her it would be the perfect place to fight without attracting pro heroes and for Dabi to unleash his flame.

"Let's head into the alley. We can deal with them from there." Y/N commanded.

Once they went into the alley the two broke into a run for an ambush spot. Dabi went into an adjacent dead end as a hiding spot. He peeked over to see if Y/N was behind him but she was gone. There was no other cover except for an empty trash can. He knew she couldn't be anywhere. He went back to cover once he saw the mafia turn the corner.
