It was nighttime in Tokyo's Redlight District. The sidewalks stayed just as busy as in the day. But the people merely transformed with the night. People wore what they wanted, throwing down the shackles of modesty they had during their daily life. Flashing lights, neon signs, and bright LED screens lit the city streets. All kinds of people of all different characters walked under the artificial light. Dabi and Y/N were no different.

Dabi and Y/N's fingers were intertwined as they held hands. They spent most time taking in the scenery of the nightlife while chatting. It was a breath of fresh air after everything that happened. They both decided to take a break and get something to eat.

Dabi went into a convenience store. He didn't have much of the petty cash that he found in the car. He had to choose wisely on something they could both share. Dabi settled with a premade bento box from the refrigerator section. He walked out of the convenience store with the bento in his hand and headed for Y/N in the spot he previously left her.

Y/N sat on the stairs leading up to an apartment building. She smiled once she saw Dabi. Y/N scooted to the side so he could sit next to her. She looked at what he bought for them to share.

"I haven't had a bento box in years." Y/N started.

"They have never really been my favorite but it'll do with the cash we have left." Dabi popped open the plastic covering and set the bento box between them. He pushed it closer to her, silently gesturing to her to take the first bite.

She pulled the chopsticks from the side of the packaging and a piece of pork cutlet and plopped it into her mouth. The seasonings brought a burst of flavor that melted in her mouth the more she chewed. After days of eating potato chips, sodas, energy drinks and whatever junk they could quickly steal from stores in Kanagawa. Real food was a welcomed change and something she had greatly missed.

Y/N hummed in delight, "So good..."

"Definitely beats the junk we've been eating," Dabi said between bites.

Dabi finished his bite and pushed the box closer. He could tell she was starving. Y/N looked at him quizzically knowing for a fact that he did not eat enough. Before she could swallow her food and speak. Dabi reinforced his gesture with a reason.

"Enjoy it. We don't have much cash left." He pulled out the remaining yen he had in his pocket.

"Right..." She finished her last bite and closed the bento box.

It brought up a serious topic. Now that they're together, how were they going to live on the low in the city of Tokyo?

Y/N slid down another step and moved under Dabi. Now she was sitting between his legs. Her arm rested against his inner thigh as she looked up at him.

"Any field you're looking forward to?" She asked. "There's plenty of opportunities here in Tokyo."

"Not sure." He leaned back. The edge of the concrete stair pushed against him. "But it'll be hard without any connections."

"Well, I guess we can't do anything ambitious until we know the underground here. Take what we can when we can." Her eyes couldn't help but be drawn to the night sky above her. Took note of the few bright stars that dotted it." "Hopefully we save enough to sleep in hotels, maybe get an apartment."

"Very optimistic," Dabi commented.

"Can't hurt to dream." She cracked a small smile at him.

Without realizing it, Dabi smiled back. It amazed him how her small mannerisms had an alluring effect. He never really was an optimist. The cards that fate had dealt him kept letting him down every time. It kept him doubtful that any good would come to his life. But the way she smiled made him giddy. Within her e/c eyes, he could imagine them working together, fighting together, and being happy together. He had hope. No, actually something even better: faith. Hope was merely the byproduct of his dream with her.

Dabi gave in to his feelings, he brought his lips to hers with the lightest touch. His eyes closed as he took in the moment. The heart beating in his chest rhythmically aligned with Y/N's. Her hand snaked to the back of his neck to bring him closer into their kiss. Another second gone that felt like an eternity. Dabi finally released her lips from his embrace to speak.

"And it feels so damn good to dream too," He whispered.

A wave of heat rose to her cheeks from his words. His touch lingering left tingles up and down her body. The little composure she had melted away. Y/N kissed him again. And when she pulled away. He would kiss her. The cycle would repeat again and again until their playful tug of war left them out of breath. Y/N and Dabi pressed their foreheads together as they lightly chuckled. They knew in better circumstances they would've pressed on in the moment.

Y/N got up from the stairs and pulled Dabi gently by his hand. He was on his feet now.

"Come on, we haven't explored the best part of Tokyo yet," Y/N said.

Dabi gave her a hopeful smile and agreed, "Then let's go, princess."
