Hey y'all I'm back! The next few chapters are gonna be pretty long. I'm gonna try to back on the weekly chapters as well. Also, there might be a little more grammar and punctuation errors since my laptop screen broke. So bear with me for a bit. Otherwise, enjoy!

P.S. Slight gore warning: No real blood just stuff going where they're not supposed to be.

A/N: I decided to split up the chapter into two parts to make the reading easier. I am also editing some previous chapters as well.

Dabi and Y/N were near the edge when she grabbed his hand. Y/N took a step off the edge and let herself fall. Dabi let her pull him with her. She pulled him close to her during their fall.

Adrenaline rushed through her veins as her wings sprouted from her back. She spread her wings and let the air under her lift them. Getting her wings was the easy part. Now she had to fly low enough to not be seen by the sniper but high enough not to get hit by gunfire from the convoy.

She flew over the streets quietly as her wings took her. But anyone with a pair of eyes could see her. One by one the black cars started to follow. It wouldn't take long for them to notify Kazue they were on the move.

Thanks to the sniper. She couldn't fly straight to the bridge. The best she could follow the streets and keep cover until she made it there. It would be smooth sailing. But just like the past week, nothing ever goes as planned.

Gunshots thundered past them as she flew. A stray bullet flew past them nearly hitting Dabi in the face. Dabi usually wasn't scared easily but that near-miss certainly made him flinch.

"Y/N..." He warned her.

"I'm working on it!" She flapped her wings even harder to gain speed.

Y/N took a sharp turn around a building and flew higher to get away from the gunfire.

Another wave of high pitch ringing started. Just like the pain when their minds were linked. But it didn't stop. It was as if they stalling connection. She had no doubt that the telepath was toying with her. Unfortunately, it was working. She could barely focus on flying. Y/N nearly ran into a building trying to shake off the pain. She turned away just in time before she slammed into the side of the building.

Watch where you're going." Dabi growled.

"I'm trying!" Y/N snapped

She flew even higher, a mistake she regretted immediately. She cried out in pain as a tainted bullet tore through her left wing. But soon as the pain struck her wings had gone numb. Y/N tried to tuck in her wings to dive but she couldn't move them.

Had that bullet done that much damage to them? No, it was more than that. She couldn't control her wings because there was nothing there. Her worst fear came true: She was hit by Kazue's quirk in midflight.

She cursed herself loudly. Sure, getting shot hurt like hell but it was nothing compared to helplessness she felt as they plummeted towards the ground.

They were nowhere near a building and she had no way of changing their trajectory. She thought about all of her decisions and actions that lead to her final moment. Y/N closed her eyes knowing in the next few seconds it was all going to be over. She held onto Dabi tightly as the wind rushed past them.

Dabi had one trick up his sleeve. It had been a while since he put so much firepower into one blast. But it was their only chance. He braced himself for the pain as he extended his arm and activated his quirk.

A blue light filled her shined through her eyelids and suddenly they stopped falling.

She opened her eyes with a glint of hope. They completely changed direction. Now they were heading towards a high-rise window of an abandoned building with no sign of slowing down. As she realized the danger, she tried to reposition before she crashed headfirst into the window but it was too late.

The shattered glass had cut her face. The moment she landed she felt an unbearable pain accompanied by a sickening crunch. Her head slammed against the concrete floor and everything faded to black. Y/N had finally let go of Dabi and tumbled into the darkness.
