madness, one left after this.
Thankyou for all your support.

My eyes zoom up and down the leather menu, then around the hall. They look at the bright-white chandelier, the couples dressed fancy, the red curtains hanging down off the wall-length grand windows and waiters and waitresses rushing around in black and white clothes.

"The bigger the menu, the fancier the restaurant," Josh winks, I blush.

"You say that everytime we go to a new restaurant."

"And I won't ever stop."

I roll my eyes jokingly and flick through the menu, from the starters to the wines.

"Do you wanna share a pizza?" He asks, closing his menu and placing it carefully down on the white-clothed table.

"We came to a very fancy place and you want to get pizza?" I laugh.

"It'll have fancy herbs on it," he shrugs, a huge grin on his face. I smile, unable to resist his and close the menu.

"Fine, but we're not sharing a drink and the pizza won't have anything weird on it, just a normal meat one," I respond, my hand awkwardly going out towards him. "Deal?"

He looks down at my hand for a second, then back at me before sliding his hand against mine. Instead of shaking it, like I had anticipated, he brings my hand to his lips and softly kisses it.

"Deal," he whispers against my hand before dropping it. My hand lingers on the table for a second, a small smile on his face.

Not long after, a young waiter walks over. He has common forced smile on his face and wears the signature black and white clothing here. He looks just older than us, he shoots Josh a glance then me a smile. I smile back, awkwardly blushing.

"You look great tonight, ma'am, any guy would be lucky to be with you right now," he suddenly says, shuffling on the spot with his eyes glued to me.

"Oh, thankyou sir," I respond. He laughs quietly before looking over at Josh again.

"Anytime, anyway what can I get you two? Are we skipping starters?" He asks. I look over at Josh and he nods.

"My date," he stops for a second to shoot a look at me, "we'd like to share a meat pizza and we'll both have lemonade," he continues, his eyes not leaving the poor waiter. The poor waiter nods quickly, his face turning a deep red as he rushes off.

"That was mean," I say, looking at Josh who has a smug smile on his face. He rolls his eyes at me before sighing.

"He was flirting, no one is allowed to do that with you."

"I'm my own person, Josh," I chuckle.

"I know, but- but I don't know. I just get jealous quickly after Sophie cheated. You can understand?" He mutters. I quickly nod as I place my hand on his.

"I understand, cheating leaves people different."

His small frown turns to a reassured one.

"Your jealousy is cute," I whisper from the silence.

"You're cute," he whispers back, pulling his hand away from mine as the waiter from before puts the two drinks in front of us. He doesn't look up from his shaking hands before awkwardly shuffling away.

Josh lets out a quiet laugh as he the waiter rushes away. I roll my eyes.

"He's probably imagined kids with you," he mutters.

"You're the only one able to do that," I smile. He looks taken back for a second, his fingers awkwardly circling the glass.

"Shutup, I don't imagine it," he stutters. "Well I imagine a few things.. but let's start with the near future."

"Hm?"

"Your plans."

"I have an idea," I say whilst shrugging.

"Me too, I'm sure we'll figure it out."

"It's weird, isn't it?" I ask.

"What is?" He says, pulling away from the straw he's chewing.

"That we've spent our entire lives in this tiny village but we can't wait to get out," I laugh. "We should miss it but who does? There's nothing to miss, just awful people and bad memories."

"But we have good memories, like our first kiss and all the time we've spent together," he responds, his head tilted to the side.

"But I can't wait to leave, but I'm taking you with me."

"You definitely are, I told you: when I first met you, you could leave and then everything would be good. You may of hit rock-bottom but look at you now, you could only go up and you excelled. What you were feeling was only temporary, Elyse."

"I see that now, everything is better now, everything gets better and I've realised that. I couldn't of done that without you Josh, not without your support," I smile, my thumb rubbing against his slowly.

He smiles softly, leaning over to kiss me softly.

The moon is bright, the wind breezes against my bare skin. Walking past the mirrors I take a small glance at us. Josh is wearing black pants and a white shirt, his hair actually neat for once and not covering his eyes. I look over at me: my knee-length dark green dress flowing around with every step and my hair down and slightly wavy. In that moment I feel pure love for this small village and for Josh.

"Pier walk?" He asks, his hand moving to mine as he softly intertwines his fingers with mine.

"Always," I smile and glance at him.

"How are things at home?" He asks as we walk together, my hand gliding against the rough railing.

"Not good, haven't spoken to my parents much," I awkwardly laugh.

"You've got me," he mutters, his arms pulling me against him. I giggle, my arms going around his neck.

"I have," I whisper, close to his face.

"And soon you can leave and take me with you," he continues in a hushed tone, moving his head to press his forehead against mine.

"It's all just temporary," I say, paraphrasing what he said from earlier in a copied tone

I hear him laugh so softly it's almost audible.

"Number thirty: pain is temporary."
