Airplane food

The airport seemed a lot sadder than he remembered it being.

Ene, Karkat, and Dave had gathered together to wish John goodbye. "You'll be back soon, right?" Dave asked nervously. "As soon as I can." John smiled, yet his eyes looked sad. Ene gave John a fist bump and Karkat merely smiled softly. (He doesn't smile often).

Dave thought for a moment before saying these next few words.

"John, I have something to tell you." He said confidently, Karkat and Ene stared at him wildly. "What is it?" John asked. "I l-" "FINAL FLIGHT TO FLORIDA IS LEAVING NOW!" Dave was interrupted by the speakers. "Oop, I gotta go. You can tell me when I get back!" John smiled and waved his friends goodbye.

Dave smiled sadly, knowing he would never finish that sentence.

This would probably be the longest John had gone without talking to Dave. He was sure he'd be fine, but that didn't make it any less sad. He took a bite of his airplane food, it really was shitty.

FLASHBACK WOOOOO

December 15th, 2020.

"Dude, I'm telling you. Airplane food is shitty." Dave said, walking next to John. "I've never bought it, I don't usually get hungry on flights." John replied smiling at him. "It is genuinely the worst. When me and Dirk flew to NY, we got hungry on the flight so we decided to order airplane food. Biggest. Mistake. Of. My. Life."

"What happened?" John giggled a little. "Let's just say, it doesn't taste good coming up either." Dave looked away as if he was getting war flashbacks. "Oh no." John chuckled. "Oh yeah. And this is why we're getting Mcdonald's." Dave said as they walked into the Mcdonald's.

"DO YOU THINK HE'LL BE OKAY?" Karkat whispered. "I hope so.." Ene whispered back. "Wait, I have an idea." Rose jumped in.

Karkat and Ene were visiting the Strilondes out of concern. Dave hadn't really come out of his room since John left. The house was quiet and gloomy without Dave and John. Even Roxy was less quiet. "What's your idea? I'm open to anything as long as he'll get out of that room." Dirk replied.

"We'll need an xbox." Rose explained. "I CAN BRING MINE." Karkat offered. "It's Minecraft time." She looked off to the side as if she was in a movie.

The room was silent for a few minutes.

"....So are you gonna tell us the plan orrrr..?" Ene asked. "Oh! Right. My bad." Rose chuckled awkwardly.
