Amber’s POV
To say I was nervous was an understatement I was anxious to know where Arson was taking me. We have been driving for five hours playing random road games the whole time. We stopped to eat at a dinner during lunch time and it was now 5 in the afternoon when Arson turned onto a private dirt road. For the first half mile it was nothing but trees and bushes but as we got farther in the trees started to clear turning into bushes with roses on them. Every bush was trimmed to perfection and as we got deeper into the road the side of a white mansion surrounded by a golden fence was appearing in the view. The mansion was huge with vines that swirled around the sides giving it a sophisticated look and the fence gave it the finishing touch. Arson pulled up next to an inter come in front of the gate. That was guarding any entrance to the house. “State you’re business” a deep voice said coming out of the inter come.
“Oh come on George you know who it is unless she’s hiding something.” A laugh comes out of the inter come at Arson’s answer.
“Ah he’s back come on in and don’t cause trouble like usual will you.”
“I’ll try my best talk to you later George.” There was the sound of the inter come being turned off as the gates allowed us in and he drove forward. There was a fountain in the front of the house that made the house look ten times more expensive.
“Wow” I breathed out. I heard a chuckle and turned to see Arson smiling at me.
“Yeah I know.” He stepped outside of the car and made his way to my side of the car opening my door. “Come on I have two people I want you to meet.” I bit my lip as I stepped out of the car and he placed his hand in mine. He led me up the steps to the front door knocking on it twice. “I mean you’d think with the million dollar mansion she would at least install a door bell” he muttered to himself. He was going to knock again when the door opened revealing a nine year old girl or so I think that’s how old she was.
“Arson!” She ran up to Arson wrapping her arms around his waist and Arson let my hand go to hug her back. She looked like Arson with the brown hair and eyes including the dimples they both had. They separate and the girl stares at me then looks back to Arson as if asking who I am without actually speaking. He opens his mouth to speak when another voice spoke out making all of us turn our heads to the door.
“Ah so the boy is alive.” The women spoke to Arson sending him a glare and crossing her arms. I look back at Arson who is looking at the ground guilty but still smiling.
“Sorry Abby.”
“Hmm sorry my ass now get over here and give your grandma a hug.” I laughed as Arson shook his head and hugged her. After they separated everyone looked at me and I bit my lip looking at the ground fidgeting with the sleeves of my sweater. He wrapped an arm around my waist making me look at him as he smiled and squeezed it for reassurance.
“Abby Em this is Amber my girlfriend.” I see his grandmas eyes widen as if she was taken by surprise. I look over at the little girl who I guessed was named Em to see her containing a laugh. A hand appeared in front of my eye site and I looked up to see Abby waiting for me to shake her hand. I snapped out of my trance and took her hand in mine shaking it.
