Chapter 9

Amber’s POV

The weekend went by faster than I thought. I got better on Sunday and convinced my family not to take me to the emergency room. I haven’t heard from Arson after the unplanned meeting at the clearing. I was focused on Arson I didn’t notice I’ve been standing in the shower till the cold water hit’s my skin feeling like knives stabbing at me. I get out of the shower and get changed I didn’t feel hungry but I knew mom wanted to see me eat or she would get suspicious. I grab a banana and head out ignoring everyone because I know I have bag’s under my eyes from the lack of sleep. When I get to the car Jake comes after me shutting the door. I stare at out the front windshield without starting the car I feel eyes burning the side of my head and turn to meet Jake's eyes. He takes a sudden intake of breath and his eyes widen. “What” I snap at him.

“Amber did you even sleep this weekend?”

“Yes I did I’m just a bit tired okay it’s nothing.”

“Amber this is not nothing this can’t happen again Amber please…. You.”

“Jake stop this is nothing okay just a cold I’m right here look see right here.” I smiled for effect it was just a cold he didn’t have to be worried.

“Okay Amber I will go with that but if it gets worse were going to the hospital.”

“Scouts honor Jake.” We both laughed just to get the mood in the car better. When we reached the school Jake looked at me making sure I was really okay.

“Go I’ll be fine Jake.” He nodded before he left the car making his way to his friends. I stepped out of the car and walked my way to my locker. When I was in the sight of view of Lily and Matt they both gasped. “Geesh guy’s I knew I wasn’t a morning person but don’t be so harsh about it” I chuckled.        

“You look…” Matt started.

“Absolutely terrible” and Lily finished it. I sighed and ran a hand down my face.

“No sleep don’t worry about it okay now move I need to get my stuff.”

“Wow bitchy and ugly in the morning skank.” I turned around to face Cleo and her pack of dogs.

“Not in the mood so go do your usual booty call duties from this weekend.” She gasped but when she saw I didn’t turn back I heard her heels walk away. I turned around and saw Matt and Lily just starring with concerned faces. The bell rang and everyone made it out of the hallway to class but the three of us. “Well I’m going to go to class don’t want to be late.” I left them there walking into my homeroom. When I spotted my seat I absentmindedly looked at the seat next to me and saw it was empty. A frown made its way to my face but I quickly turned it to a straight face. I headed to my seat when the teacher came into the room and class begun.

We were 45 minutes into class when the door opened and in came the five playboy’s of Healdsburg High. The five consisted of Hale Travis which was a tall good looking blond with blue eyes. Then there was Randy Lloyd who had pitch black hair tall and black looking eyes. The twins consisted of Mack and Malcolm Radford who were tall but slightly than the other two with light brown hair and brown eyes. Than there’s the one and only Arson Bates who was tallest his light brown hair and perfect face complexion made him stand out and hand’s down the hottest looking one. Every girls sigh could be heard but I just rolled my eyes and continued on the work sheet we had to be doing. “Ah thanks for joining us boy’s look forward to seeing you in detention know take a seat.” The seat next was pulled out and Arson sat in it.
