Amy's POV

I feel myself being lift up and hear muffling but my eyes still remain close trying to block out the world around. The only thing on my mind was why Arson was acting this way. He was completely accepting last night what changed his mind and made him hurt me. I know I was an idiot for not telling him that I loved him back when he told me maybe that could have saved me a heart ache. My side hits a soft surface that can only be my bed and my hair is pushed out of my face. "I only hope that whatever it was this time you're not the same as last time." I tune out the rest but Jake's word stick with me the whole night. No I will not shut myself like last time I will be strong I owe it to myself.

When I wake up in the morning I get ready as usual but don't think much about Arson because if I do my whole "Arson doesn't bother me" face won't work. Tying my shoes I walk down stairs and everyone is treating me like I'm fragile glass. Jake is no help either he tries to look at me but I seem to avoid his stare I know what I will see in his eyes I saw it last time. Jake's the first one to get out of the car when we arrive leaving without another word. My feet move step by step to my locker down the hallway like it were breathing that I was doing. I look at my feet not wanting to see anyone when déjà vu hits me once more. Bumping into someone there arms wrap around me keeping me from falling down to the ground. I lift my face to see the person who I bumped into and see a cut on the persons slightly chapped lips. The next sight that hits me is the person's nose that is slightly cricked probably the result of to many broken noses. A grossly shade of blue covers the side of it and the right cheek has the same color. I avoid the eyes because the eyebrow has a white band aid covering the cut that you can see needed stiches. Something in me calls me to comfort this person so my right hand that laid limp on my side now goes to his eyebrow. My fingertips barely touch the hair of his eyebrow when his hand appears and gently restricts my wrist stopping me from touching him. Our eyes meet and I look at the orbs that once used to hold warmth and comfort now they hold a cold piercing gaze almost a distant look. He shakes his head then puts me back on my feet I want to speak to him but as soon as I can stand on my own he walks away. Like the first time I met him I watch his retrieving figure walk away. So much for my plan about acting the same and keeping my happy face on. I sigh but keep walking to my locker where Lilly and Matt stand looking at me.

"Okay what the hell was that?" Lilly says grabbing onto my shoulders.

"Oh you saw that?"

"Yeah I mean it was pretty hard to miss."

"We kind of broke up." I shrug and Lilly envelops me in a hug Matt joining in a couple seconds later.

"Why?" Matt speaks for the first time. I look at his eyes and see he's concerned.

"He told me he loved me." Both of them step back abruptly like I just told them I had a skin disease that can be spread with just a touch.

"So you broke up with him?" Lily butted in her eyes wide with shock.

"No." I say looking at the ground avoiding there eyes.

"Then what happened?"

"I don't know we were fine he told me I didn't have to say it back to him then the next morning he wasn't Arson anymore."

"He told you he loved you." Matt said still hanging on the one phrase.

"Yes."

"And you didn't say it back?" I look into his eyes and he seems to be looking for something in mine.

"No I didn't say it back."

"Do you love him?" I'm taken aback by his question but I still answer it.

"Yes."

"Then why did you let him go Amber."

"What?"

"Think about it what if you were in his shoes."

"I don't get you." He sighs and runs a frustrated hand through his hair.

"What if you didn't believe in love and this one person comes along and brings the word out of you with so little effort." I stand there looking at him confused but trying to figure out what he means. "Then when you finally have the balls to tell them they don't answer you back wouldn't you doubt there feelings for you."

"I...I"

"Look I'm not saying you should go to him and beg on your knees or anything but if you really love him show him."

"How am I supposed to do that when he won't even look at me?" I whisper

"You're the one who loves him what do you think." Again I look up at him and he sends me a small smile. We hear a scoff and both turn to look at Lily who was leaning against the lockers.

"When did you turn into a sentimental butt head?" She said trying to hide her smile.

"When you turned into a cold hear ted butt head." He replied back slinging his arm around me they glared at each other while I burst out laughing.

"What are you laughing at uptight butt head?" My laugh quickly died down when she said that and know it was my turn to glare and Matt start laughing. Lily smirked at me but came and put her arm around my shoulder like Matt and started walking me down the hall. "Don't worry were all butt heads."

"That we are." Matt agreed and this is why I didn't give these two up.

"I love you guy's you know."

"Did-dos babe."

"I love you too bunny cheeks."

"Hey!" Lily started laughing as the bell rang and we all went our separate ways. Arriving at the door to my first period I was ready to face the day well at least try too.
