"We play to win."
_____________________Sand patted with each step they took, the heels of their worn down sneakers dusted them around as they slowly walked further and further into the mall, looking for any signs of life. They could feel the humidity, along with the horrid smell of what seemed like rotting meat. The mere thought of whatever was down there with them made them cringe and swallow their own vomit.
Behind a large gated glass, there were empty jugs of water, dust coated over them, seemingly as though the place had been abandoned months ago. There were empty glasses of water that sat on the tables, no newly found fingerprints. Next to the jugs, there were multiple, empty canteens. Minho spoke up, "Come on, open up," He said, motioning to the space behind the wall. They lifted up the gate and slowly stepped into it, Frypan found a lantern and switched it on, lifting it so he could get a better view of his surroundings.
There were flashlights lined up on a counter, which Teresa gladly took and flicked on, the light temporarily blinding her as she faced it up towards her eyes. She winced and directed it away from her.
Axel bent down and lifted up a jacket and shook the gritty dirt and sand off of a navy jacket he found, "it looks like someone lived here," His deep voice caught their attention, a few glancing his way.
"Where are they now?" Newt asked as he slightly grimaced at the powdered down objects, he handed Aife a flashlight as she made her way over to him.
Thomas picked up a blue jacket and began to pull it onto himself, "Let's pack some of this stuff up," He said with slight shakiness in his voice as he absentmindedly ran his hands over the newly found fabric once more, trying to rid of any possible insects.
"Anything you think you might need, we'll split up, see what we can find and meet back here." Aife said in a stern voice as she narrowed her eyes at teresa who was picking up a dull wooden axe.
They began to separate themselves, but not too far. The ceiling was worn down, the weakened walls were deserted. Aife stuck with Newt, Frypan, and Axel, digging through clothes and knives. Aife picked up a leather belt and a sheath and placed it around herself, then began to store the weapons on herself.
She could hear the conversation of Minho and a Thomas, the asian saying he didn't want to end up like their fallen friends, Thomas agreeing with him. The asian made his way over to a lamp and furrowed his eyebrows, "They had power."
Thomas pointed his flashlight to a large metal compartment that had wires and levers on it, they shared a look and began to walk towards it.
