"May we meet again."
_______________________The wind had finally come to a holt, the sand was no longer blowing, and they were thankful. They had found a place under a worn down building so they could sit in the shadows of it, to watch their breath. Minho took a sip of water from his flask and then handed it to Aife, who was quickly recovering from her small scene that she had due to not drinking enough water.
She felt the cooling liquid fall down her throat, instantly putting her at ease. Frypan, who sat on the other side of her, took off his boot and flipped it upside down, piles of sand came out of it, he rolled his eyes tiredly as he watched.
Teresa was watching as Winston struggled to breath, his panting getting heavier and heavier, she ran a hand through her hair as her mouth was slightly agape. And on top of all that, she couldn't get Aifes words out of her head. She remembered what the girl did, hell, she was there. It didn't occur to her until now, that they are with a murderer.
Aris was propped up against a rock, his head resting against it as he shut his eyes and rested his feet, having ran so far took a toll on him. Newt sat next to Axel, who was contemplating on how to speak to Aife, he didn't want to make her upset. Teresa stood up and walked towards Thomas, who was looking out into the distance, and Axel took that time to speak up.
"Do you remember who i am?" He asked, everyone's eyes flickered to him. Aife wore a void expression as she looked at the boy.
"Yes." She replied curtly. He paused, and waited for her to continue, so she did, "You're my brother," she grumbled out.
Then, everyone's eyes flicked to her, their eyes wide, "You remember him?" Newt asked softly, though confusion laced his voice.
"I was stung twice, in the first month that i was alone in the glade, there was a week when the doors wouldn't close." She started, Axel tensed at her words, not liking the memories of having to watch his sister be punished like that, "I'm not sure why, but it didn't happen again after that. Not until recently." She spat as she curled her upper lip with hatred and clenched her jaw. She was fiddling with a knife in her hands as she began to twist it into the sand, "When i went through the first changing, i saw you, but it didn't click on who you were to me until the second one."
Newt moved next to the girl and rubbed her shoulder as he playfully nudged her, "But, hey, you made it. That's all that matters. You're here, with us now, and i couldn't be more grateful." He grinned, she gave a small smirk in response.
Newt then stood up and leaned against a concrete pillar as he placed a hand on his forehead, blocking the sun from his eyes as he looked at Thomas and Teresa, "How's it lookin'?" He called out to them.
