She made the necessary plans with Salvatore, but she had to wait until her parents went to bed.
Usually, they did so early. But this night, they spent a little extra time taking their cocktails in the living room, listening to records.
Clementine really considered moving out somehow, but also knew it was close to impossible in the current climate.
Where are you?
He texted her, and she thought it was cute, his little possessiveness.
I might be a little bit later, things here are dragging on a bit
She replied quickly to him, smiling to herself.
Then he replied quickly.
You might have to meet us there then.
Then he gave her the address.
Clementine was feeling a little angry but, better late than never.
She got the go ahead from him, and she was starting to hear things settle downstairs.
She texted Ernesto that they were almost ready, then he texted her back that she'd have to wait a little longer.
So by the time that she was in the car, she had now way to gauge at what point tier crowd was going to be - spiritually speaking.
They pulled up to a casino looking place, and Salavatore peeked in from the windshield, craning his neck.
"You sure this is it, miss?" He asked her.
Clementine looked between the address and the place and said yes, it has to be.
"Want me to wait for you?"
"No, I'll be fine," she was getting out of the car, and turning back to him said, "oh and Salva, please don't tell my parents."
He nodded, putting his hands up as if in resignation.
Clementine saw a group of local young people around her age, smoking.
She went it, and texted him that she was here.
She was worried she wouldn't find him, but he texted her back right away.
Come to the front lobby area
She wasn't sure where that was, but she kept walking past he bright light slot machines and bars and before she had a chance to respond, he was there, smiling at her.
"Hey," Clementine said, taking him in. He didn't look that much different, just as handsome as ever.
He took her face and gave her a kiss right away.
She could tell he was probably drinking slightly, but other than that everything seemed normal.
It just felt so good to be in his presence again. Like drinking a large glass of water after being parched in a dessert.
"How you been?" He asked her, as they walked past the other crowds of people.
He had his arm around her.
"I've been...good," she looked up at him, and he kissed her again.
"We need to take a trip to the banjos," he led them both to the corner bathrooms, and for a moment she wasn't sure if she was supposed to follow him, but left it at that.
They both went into their prospective bathrooms, and Clementine just looked in the mirror for a minute, wondering how he saw her.
She couldn't fully explain it, but its like in his presence in his gaze that is when she came alive. That is when anything made sense or had any meaning.
The therapist would have something to say about that, she thought, but she didn't care.
She went back outside and waited for Zico.
He came out, and this time, the scared that was around this neck was more undone.
They kissed one more time, and he asked her "ready?"
Clementine wasn't even sure what they were referring to, but she decided that with him, whatever it was, she was ready.
He led her by the hand, and as usual, they went to go join the people he came with. The betas to his alpha.
