I was worth it? Since when? So Nicholas has known me all this while but how?

My headache became worse the more I thought of these things.

I watched quietly as Nicholas was being escorted by almost 20 men to his Waiting car outside. He had six other cars front and back who would be following him to work .

I just knew Nicholas could decide to walk to work and no one would be able to hurt him but he was doing this to show everyone he was just as human as them but an inner beast.

I smiled as Oregon opened the door for him and he sat down.

I was wondering why he didn't really punish me for sneaking out after all the trouble I put him in.

I knew it will come someway somehow so I just shrugged.

A part of wanted him to turn and wave but this was no Duncan and Titania love but Felicia and Nicholas absolutely weird vibe.

But he did.

He turned to look at me and I saw something I had never seen in his eyes before.

He didn't wave.

He winked.

And I smiled.

No one saw it....it was like some secret code.

I smiled again as he winked again and the car drove off.

" Hey" a voice startled me from behind.

Jason.

After our kiss, I hadn't really spoken to him. Maybe because I was angry.

" Hi"

" Watching your husband go?"

" He's not my husband"

" Friend"

" He's not my friend"

Who was Nicholas to me?

" I don't ,let's just say I'm there"

He laughed.

" Can I ask you a question?"

He nodded.

" Do you know much about Nicholas"

" Not really but what do you wanna know"

" Has he lost anyone of value in his life"

Jason tensed

" I ......uh............"

" I'm not forcing you to tell me anything though"

" He lost his girlfriend"

Nicholas had a girlfriend

" That was when he was just sixteen"

" Her name was Dana"

" Who killed her?"

" Gang issues but he suspects it to be the Russian mafia"

" So what did he do about it"

" Nothing,just sulking,one night stands,torturing girls and working his ass off everyday"

" Who else did he lose"

" His adopted father"

Hernando?

" What happened"

" Another gang issues"

Louisa told me how much Hernando was the only man Nicholas loved and felt safe with.

This explains why he is an assassin, he's out for revenge.

Jason didn't know that.

" What did he do about"

" Nicholas is weak, Felicia,he's nothing, you can push him with your middle finger and he's gonna fall thrice,he hides his pain through anger but he's just weak"

I wanted to laugh and tell him he got it all wrong but I just winced.

Then he didn't know about Nicholas at all.

He was clueless.

I excused myself to go and sleep.

I woke with shouts from the next room .

I got up to have a sneak peek.

Nicholas was yelling at someone in uniform,I'm guessing it was a detective. Lance was standing behind him.

As luck would have it,the door couldn't support the baby and my weight so I was sent reeling into Lance's arms..

He caught me on time and gave me sly smile and a wink. Nick shot him a murderous glare and he left me alone.

" I ....uh....was...... going"

" You can stay"

I was shocked.....he didn't yell"

" Thank you for your observation detective we'll call you when we need help with inaccurate issues" he was being sarcastic.

" I'm so sorry sir for not investigating this well"

" Get the hell out"

He was out in no second.

" Let's go and check the slides"

He told Lance and helped me up on my feet.

Holding my hands in his he led me out.

His palms were soft and warm ,his fingers wrapped around mine in the most delicate way and the whole walk to the media room was like heaven to me.

Why was he acting like this.

Lance put the slides in and the footage of me walking with his late father came into view.

I closed my eyes to prevent myself from reliving that nightmare. But he only held me.

After watching,he slammed his hands on the table.

" I knew it,I just knew it"

" What?" I asked.

" You were not the only one there with my father the night he was killed"
I shrieked.

" I don't get you"

" Andrew did not die when you stabbed him and left"

" What happened"

" Someone was there to kill him before you entered,your stabbing was just a head start for him to snap his neck"

" So I'm not the murderer"

He shrugged,as confused as me.

Lance zoomed in on the figure hiding behind a wall.

" Sir"

" What"

" It's Vipon"
