"You look bored." Ten commented as him and Evie sat on at the bar, staring at the crowded dance floor. "Weren't you the one that wanted to be here?"

"Waiting for someone to catch my eye." Evie said, sipping her drink.

"You keep waiting then." Ten said, eyes narrowing as he stared at the dance floor. "Because I've already found my fun for the night."

"Of course." Evie scoffed as Ten smirked, sliding off the bar stool. She watched as Ten disappeared into the crowd on the dance floor, and couldn't help but wonder where Lucas was.

Maybe he's running late. Evie thought as she placed her empty glass down before hopping off the stool herself.

The club was crowded and the loud music made it hard for her to hear, so she had to rely on her sight. There were too many people though, and she couldn't see Lucas anywhere.

Evie was about to step away from the bar when she felt two strong arms grab ahold of her, and almost elbowed the person behind her. What stopped her was the familiar scent and whisper that followed the soft kiss to her neck.

"Hope you weren't waiting too long." Lucas said quietly, just loud enough for her to hear. Evie smiled as she turned around, finally meeting her date for the night. "You look beautiful."

Evie was surprised by his sudden compliment, gently placing her hand on his arm as she took in the man in front of her. "You look handsome as well."

And Lucas really did, with the top buttons of his shirt undone and hair parted. It was hard to believe that someone like him was actually into someone like her, but she decided not to question it for her own sake.

"I see that you've been drinking without me." Lucas chuckled, referring to her empty glass. "Must have been lonely."

"Ten came." Evie told him. "But he left right before you arrived.

"Where is he now?" Lucas asked, looking around the dance floor.

"To find his prey." Evie said, taking his hand in hers before realizing something. "Weren't your friends supposed to come to?"

"They were." Lucas told her, letting out a deep sigh. "But Hendery got stuck on ruins duty so he couldn't come so his girlfriend decided to bail too."

"Unfortunate." Evie said, pulling him towards the dance floor. "But I guess that means we can have our own fun without being interrupted."

"Are you implying something?" Lucas asked, raising an eyebrow. Evie giggled, shrugging her shoulders as she dragged him deeping into the crowd.

"Tonight is just about me and you."

...

Evie was easily moving to the beat of the music, leading Lucas along. He was thankful for that too, as his body felt stiff and awkward in comparison to hers.

"You seem stressed, which is not how you should be feeling at a club." Evie said, wrapping her arms around his neck as the bodies around them pushed her closer to him.

"I wouldn't know." Lucas told her, as she guided his hands around her waist. "This isn't my usual setting."

"It's not?" Evie asked, clearly surprised. "I mean I guess with looks like those, you don't really need to pick up girls here."

"Is that really what the club is for?" Lucas said, raising an eyebrow. "Picking up significant others."

"No, definitely not." Evie said, a smirk appearing on her face. "For us, it's more for finding late night snacks."
