Seoul was a lot nicer than Evie had expected, the girl threading through the busy streets. It was around Christmas time and people were doing their last minute shopping, trying to get gift for their loved ones.

Evie herself was having trouble choosing a gift, not knowing what to get Lucas. Kun and Ten had given them more than enough money than they could ever spend, and Lucas already had everything that he could ever want.

It had been over a year since they left Neo City, establishing themselves in Seoul. They lived a simple life of relaxing and enjoying each other's presence as a couple, trying to get to know each other better.

One thing Evie knew she could never get used to was how much Lucas loved to exercise. Even though it wasn't too hard for her vampire body to keep up, Evie much rather stay in her bed all day than to get up for a run at dawn.

Lucas himself had his own dislikes as Evie entered their apartment, heading straight to the fridge. His face scrunched up as she opened her bag, revealing the blood bags inside. "Raided the local hospital again?"

"You know this is the only way I can survive." Evie said, placing the blood bags in one of the drawers. "I can feed on living humans instead if you'd like."

"It's fine." Lucas said, waving his hand and walking away. "Just hurry up, dinner's getting cold."

Evie shook her head as she tried not to smile, her boyfriend dragging his feet as he made his way to the dinning table. As unhappy as he sounded, she knew that one kiss while washing the dishes together would be more than enough to brighten his day.

The two had finally decided to become an official couple after a chat while cuddling in bed. Considering how long they had been living together and their status as mates, it was only fitting.

They also had a small discussion about marriage, but that idea was quickly dismissed as they both agreed that neither of them were ready for that committment yet.

Once Evie was done, she stood up and was surprised to see what Lucas had decided to order for tonight. "Noodles."

"A symbol of longetivity." Lucas sighed. "At least that's what my grandmother told me."

Evie's eyes soften as she sat down, reaching out and placing her hand on top of Lucas's. She didn't need to be his mate to know what he was thinking about on the inside.

"You miss them, don't you?" Evie asked the male that wsa staring at the bowl of noodles.

"It's hard, being away from them." Lucas confessed. "I mean, a few of them kind of know what happened, but the fact that they think i'm dead bothers me as well."

Evie lightly rubbed her thumb over his knuckles. "I know exactly how you feel."

Evie gulped as Lucas looked up, meeting her eyes. "How did you do it?"

"Do what?" Evie asked, purposedly playing dumb.

"Get over the fact that your parents thought you were dead." Lucas said, as if it was a normal question. "It just, I can't wrap my head around it."

"I think the fact that I'm technically dead helped." Evie said. "It must be harder for you, since you're actually alive and well."

"Probably." Lucas mumbled, picking up his chopsticks. He motioned to the food. "We should eat."

As the two of them ate in silence, Evie could tell that Lucas was still thinking about his family, and desperately wished that the two of them could go back.

...

"A watch?" Ten suggested as Evie held her phone to her ear, walking around the mall. "Or shoes, men like shoes."
