Chapter 21

It was finally the day that Evie was leaving Neo City with Lucas, and she found herself at the front of an unfamiliar apartment with Lucas, Ten, and Winwin. Ten glanced at the others before lifting his hand, knocking on the door.

The door opened to reveal a man that Evie didn't recognize, but everyone else did. As they walked past him with ease, Evie waited patiently to be invited in.

"Evie, you can come in." Ten told her, turning back to the girl. "This is Kun, the High Warlock of Neo City."

Evie had heard about Kun a few times but was not expecting to meet him so soon. She nodded her head, politely greeting Kun before entering the apartment.

"Evie!"

Evie smiled as she saw Yangyang running from the couch. The male gave Evie a big warm hug, and she tried not to laugh as she saw Lucas stiffen.

"I can't believe you're leaving already. You just came here." Yangyang whined, pouting. She heard Ten clear his throat, and Yangyang immediately pulled away, glancing at Lucas with quivering eyes.

"We can stay in touch." Evie told him, giving the male a pat on the head. "Give me a call anytime."

"Okay!" Yangyang cheered before returning to the couch, plopping down. Evie giggled as Ten gave him a light shove before sitting down beside Lucas.

"Kun-ge, are you sure this will work?" Lucas asked, fiddling with the necklace he wore.

"I'm positive." Kun said, sticking his hand out. "Whenever you're ready."

Evie gave his leg a squeeze and Lucas inhaled deeply before removing the necklace. He gave it to Kun who placed it in the glass bowl on the table, before lifting the knife that was sitting beside it..

Kun placed his hand out and Lucas put his hand on top of it, palm up. Evie stiffened as Kun placed the blade on his hand before quickly pulling it to the side, slashing his hand.

Lucas winced in pain and Evie gave his arm a soft kiss to comfort him. He quickly turned his head, letting his blood drip over his necklace.

Winwin passed Kun a cloth that the warlock used to clean the blade, watching as the Lucas's blood continued to drip for a bit.

"Why isn't it closing?" Evie asked. She gave Lucas a glance, confused. "Don't you have healing powers too?"

"The blade is made with silver." Ten explained. "It'll take a bit longer to heal than usual."

Kun nodded to Yangyang, who quickly got up, running out before returning with a first aid kit. He opened it up, taking out a roll of bandages.

"That's enough." Kun said, lifting Lucas's hand away from the bowl. Lucas closed his hand into a fist, preventing more blood from dripping.

"I got it." Evie said, taking the roll of bangage from Yangyang's hand. Lucas gave her a small smile of reassurance as she wiped the blood before beginnning to wrap his hand.

That's when Evie noticed glowing and turned her head to see Kun with his hands over the bowl, eyes glowing purple. There was clearly an aura around him as he focused on the bowl, before it disappeared and the male leaned back. "It's ready."

"What did you do?" Evie asked, looking around the room, confused.

"I kept the scent of his blood for a few hours." Kun told her. "It will smell like it did now for a while, but not for too long. You two need to go."

"Already?" Evie exclaimed, glancing around. "We've barely exchanged goodbyes!"

"We should do it quickly then." Ten said, standing up. "We don't have a lot of time and you two need to get out of Neo City and fast."
