As soon as that thought occurred to me I immediately sprung into action, first I checked my surroundings, and there I saw the slight shifting in the grass, most likely a little snake.
Shit. I was too careless this time.
Because I didn't see any big creatures around me in the plains, I thought I was safe and didn't need to worry.
Fuck.
I hurried and gathered my thoughts, remembering what god said, I rushed to the place I had called my home, and quickly scrounged up every bit of it, putting it all into my inventory without a second thought.
I never used the inventory, because I saw no need to use it, being a dragon and all, but right now was an emergency.
I could feel the poison working it's way through my system, or at least that's what It felt like, but It could've just been me being delirious at the time because of me panicking so much.
I admit, looking back now, I was far too rushed, but it was probably a good thing too.
I knew what that shitty god wanted me to do, and knew I couldn't do so in the forest, not only are there strong predators around there, but the trees would also get in the way should the process I'm about to attempt works.
Honestly, I didn't believe I had enough food on me, so my best bet would be to utilize my new discovery.
Although It was still risky, and might not be enough, it was the only way.
I hurried through the plains, panting more heavily by the second.
Once I arrived, I decided to not be stingy with the spot, and found a nice clear open area for me to attempt the next step.
I brought out all the food I could, and began stuffing my mouth as much as possible, not letting a single crumb escape me, within minutes, I could hear multiple sounds of coming from my head, most likely alerts about leveling up or earning exp.
I didn't care though, I hurried even further.
I was sure I wouldn't be able to make it, I was only halfway through eating my food horde, which only had around a couple hundred pieces of fruit, but I remembered something as I ate.
My dragon's passive ability.
Combined with Auto-Recovery, which was a passive skill, allowed me to delay the poison a little, but it wasn't infinite.
As I healed, I was still being effected by the poison.
It's possible that my body could adjust to the amount of the poison and filter it, but my body isn't a human's anymore, I'm a dragon, and I have no idea how long it would take for a dragon's body to filter the poison and develop an immunity.
I had no other choice, it was a gamble, but I had to evolve into a stage 3 dragon, ASAP.
After eating the entire hoard of food I had saved for so many years, I was still only about halfway to reaching the max level, I needed more and more food as I continued to eat, with more experience for every level.
I looked around, and sure enough, my ability to create food was simply astounding.
Fruits continued to spring around me as I hurriedly dug in and continued to level up.
After two hours, my health was getting lower and lower, my abilities couldn't keep up with the poison anymore, and neither could my body.
But, I persisted and kept eating, thinking "Just a little more!" repeatedly as I watched the experience and level I gained continue to increase.
After another hour, even my willpower was exhausted, not to mention my stomach felt as though it became a second body to me, sure, fruits may not fill you up as much as meat, but eating enough of them will still cause your belly to get fat.
I was already crawling on the ground, my entire body felt incredibly heavy, like I was lifting the weight of the world on my back.
I saw one last grape dangling from it's vine, and reached out with the last of my strength, gulping it down in an instant.
After I had swallowed it, a message popped up, seeing a yes/no question, I answered yes.
Then, my vision went blurry and I fell into a deep slumber.
Author's Notes: Thanks to those who've read this far and continued to enjoy the story. If I were to split the story into arcs, then you could say the first "Arc" is done for this story with this chapter. A new part of the story will begin. I don't want to spoil too much, but it'll be a little different to how things were progressing before. It'll still be first person and all that, but well, you'll see. Hopefully everyone will continue to enjoy it no matter what direction I take it!
As always, thank you very much!
