We were standing in the meeting hall of NY fire department, searching for the woman who saved me but unfortunately she was none of them.
"It's ok Agnett. We'll fine her eventually. Don't get upset." Kayden came by my side grabbing me waist and giving me side hug. I thought I would find her today but no luck.
"Who's this Captain again you mentioned about before?" Eva asked suddenly looking at me, rubbing my back. "She's the Captain of A1 section along with a vice Captain. But She's off duty right now because of the injuries." Ben said without looking at us using the iPad.
"When will she rejoin the duty? Can you provide us her address, if permitted, we can go there and see her?" Kayden said as we made our way to the exit. "I am not sure but I'll try to ask her. And about rejoining, I think she'll be here till next week." He explained as we pass through back from the familiar corridors to our way out of the station.
"I think maybe I can call her right now and ask right away. She's my close friend so she won't mind either. I know it could be really annoying not being able to get things you had been trying hard to achieve. Wait a bit." Ben said giving a sympathetic smile and went to call her.
"How are you....No it's fine....oh sure. Okay.... I'll keep you updated..... I'll give them....yeah take care." I heard Ben's faint voice in between the calls from the distance.
"I don't understand this woman. Is she a ghost or what! It's like she vanished." Kayden kicked a stone from his toe and huffed in annoyance. Eva and me were sitting on a bench outside watching squirrels run here and there, birds sitting on ground together then flew up so fast like they're missing their flight.
"Agnett, are you alright? Having pain anywhere?" Kayden asked me as I shook my head. It was almost noon and I have been walking here and there with my broken body.
"Yeah i am fine, just a little pain in leg." I said as he rushed to the parking lot, without saying a word. Soon Ben came back with a little smile on his face. "Looks like we are finally going to see the ghost." Eva said throwing her arms back of her head and sighed loudly. "Oh shut up Eva." I sed as Ben laughed.
"Okay kids. Wait, where is Kayden?" Ben asked. "He had an superman emergency, I guess."
"Only as long as, evils like you are living." kayd came back with a medicine wrapper and water bottle In his hands just after she finished. We were so engrossed in our search that I literally forgot about my medicines. But why fear when your personal doctor is always there!"Here take these medicines." He handed me the pills and water bottle, as I gulped down the horrible tasted medicines, scrunching face and not liking the taste even a bit.
"Okay so, I got a good news and bad news both. Which one first?" He asked crossing his muscular arms over his chest that made Eva dance mentally. "Pleaaseeee good one first." Kayden said throwing his arms in air.
"Okay so I talked to her father and we got the permission to share her address, that I'll give you and you all can go to meet her by yourself, or if you need, I can take you there." Ben said and I felt a bit light in my chest.
"But-" "nononono let it end on good news only. No bad. I can't stroll more and search up more firefighters. We got her it's her that's it." Eva cut him off covering her ears dramatically.
"You are quite the impatient one." Ben commented chuckling which made Eva shut up instantly. "What's the bad one?" Kayden asked as stood in front of Ben, hands in pocket.
"It's that, you can go to her but you won't be able to meet her. She has been gone to one of her relatives for past 4 days and I am not sure when she'll be back. If you'll go, you'll find her father but not her. She had 2 week medical leave by the department or if needed we will extend it too according to the situation.
