Raven held her close and sniffed in her shoulder, staining it with tears. "Hey....calm down. What's wrong?" Agnett never saw her so depressed until now. She was having dreadful feeling about this.Instead of replying, Raven tightened her grip letting no air pass through between them. Agnett didn't feel uncomfortable but she was more concerned for her condition. She seemed so different from her usual behavior, like enough different that made her feel worried for Raven.
"Raven...come with me. Sit down." Agnett was well aware that they were standing in the middle of the crowd and people were giving stares, but nothing mattered.
She guided both of them to a nearby bench and sat Raven down. She was practically looking like an escaped psychopath. Her black hair was a total mess and crumpled stained clothes. Dark and tired eyes clearly showed that she had been crying for a long time. Her chapped lips were begging for hydration.
She didn't want her to bombard with questions right away, so she gave her time to adjust. On the other hand, Raven nearly forgot everything that happened and just appreciated her presence. She was rather glad.
Agnett quickly grabbed her water bottle from her bag and offered her to drink. She gulped all of it at once. "Thank you..."
Oh no she sounds so different! Where's her cheerful voice! Agnett thought painfully.
"It's fine. Are you sure you're okay?" Agnett checked for injuries, making Raven glance at her. She was thinking about how in the world this woman showed up just at the right time. Not right for her situation but... She was seeking her comfort, and she's here.
Raven noticed that Agnett's elbow and forearm were bleeding. She caught it in mid air and checked it. "You're hurt and got the nerves to ask me?" She complained and blew on her wound.
"I am sorry. I didn't know when my hand got scratched. It's fine I am sure your back might have hurt more Caz I fell over you." Agnett stopped a cab and helped Raven to sit inside.
Raven noticed that something was different with her today. "Where's your supporting stick?"
"I have been an old lady for quite some time, so I left it. I am fine already." She said sitting beside her.
"Where to miss?" The driver asked.
"To Laurel Street." Agnett replied.
"No! I am not going back there! We are not going back there! That's it!" Raven suddenly shouted, flying off her seat with Big eyes, making Agnett startle.
She understood that the reason behind her condition couldn't be her home so she told the driver to take them to the Brooklyn Fire department.
The drive was rather silent than normal. Raven was blankly watching outside the window and Agnett was getting anxious seeing her like this.
What on earth happened to this girl which made her happiness sucked up like a leech? She's so strong and brave, than who got the guts to hurt her.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Raven suddenly said, making Agnett avert her gaze from her, to the opposite direction.
"Like what?" She asked.
"Like pity. Like sympathy." She said looking at her.
"It's neither pity, Nor sympathy. It's called concern or worry." She replied looking into her eyes.
"Why are you concerned or worried for me?" Raven asked, feeling light, knowing that there's someone by her side.
She thought for a moment before answering her. "I don't know. It just feel important." She watched her as Raven averted her gaze away once more. Every Time it's Raven who mostly gapes at her and reads her like a book, but this time, Raven’s emotions were too overwhelming. Agnett could see a whole storm going inside her blank eyes and quiet lips.
