The sun was piercing over the head but the trees around created a dense shade. Someone was hanging on the rope in a chaotic position like a fallen angel, making the rope creak.
Her safety uniform was ripped off from several places and it had lots of holes. She had only one shoe on and her another foot was bare and crammed with scratches.
She opened her eyes trying to adjust them in the sharp light. She moved her body a bit and suddenly she was plunging down with strong force. She panicked and altered her arms and legs, attempting to hold something but suddenly her body halted so hard her neck stiffened.
"Shit! That hurts." Raven mumbled and carefully stared beneath her. The view made her heart accelerate.
Holy cows...
There was a never-ending depth down below and she was hanging on the branches of the trees, by the only rope which was tied on her waist. Her whole body was screaming in pain.
"What a great way to die." She mumbled annoyingly looking at the sky. She searched for her radio communicator but it was nowhere to be seen. Glancing around she ran the cogs in her mind, scanning a way to get out of there.
The mountain wall was near her but still out of reach. She held the strongest branch and pulled herself up swiftly, creeping on the tree. She climbed up and stood on it.
"If I go down, I'll be welcomed in hell. So the only way to get out of here is by reaching up to the surface." She took her string and slid it down to get the end point.
She was lucky that the string still had a claw hook at the end. She positioned herself as steady as she could and threw the end at the cliff wall so it'll attach somewhere.
After making sure by pulling it for a number of times that it wouldn't unfasten she started to climb on it slowly, slotting her foot in the cracks and stressing a hard grip in her hands.
She could see the beginning of the surface after climbing several meters away from there. There were no trees at the height where the string ended so she managed the strength to climb without the string.
"I ain't got any choice. I can't move enough to throw the string up." She muttered with a panting heart. Her head was getting dizzy and she had to maintain her composure.
The rocks were falling off the wall everytime she put her foot and there was nothing she could do but to take risks in every step. With the hard work she finally reached near the edge and sighed.
"I hope this time I reach there without losing balance." She mumbled taking a deep breath and extended her arm to grip the rock over her head. She pushed herself up and finally, she reached to the surface.
She collapsed on the ground breathing hard. Her fingers felt numb and arms throbbed. She heard voices in some distance away from where she was lying, glancing around Raven found herself some meters away from the crowd.
She managed herself to stand up and walk there looking in a drunken state. Her energy was leaving her body.
"Someone is there!" A man shouted, noticing her walking towards them.
His voice grabbed everyone's attention and Agnett glanced in the direction with pure desperation. She actually saw someone in a dirty firefighter uniform, wobbling with every step for dear life.
Her black head was covered in dirt and her uniform was barely hanging on her shoulders.
Raven...
Agnett rushed to her not caring that she was barefoot. Raven was about to collapse on the muddy ground with tiredness until she was engulfed in a pair of arms with a hard thud.
